About us
  • Same enables anybody in the world to prompt software into existence. We launched Same in Mar 2025 (link). In 8 weeks, we hit 350k in signups and $2m+ ARR, and we’re growing very fast.

  • Our founders are Aiden Bai, John Yang, and Nisarg Patel. We built open source projects used by millions of developers (Million.js , React Scan) and Airbnb, Robinhood, Perplexity, and Shopify in production.

  • We're a small but experienced team that ships relentlessly. We welcome feedback to improve both our product and ourselves. We work hard, and we operate with a high degree of trust, agency, and ownership.

What you'll do

Same's engineering team are former founders, including Nisarg, Xinyao, Rasmus. We work in small, autonomous teams oriented around different parts of the product. Here are some examples of what you’ll work on:

  • New interfaces: How do we create intuitive, no-code interfaces that allow anyone to create full-stack software?

  • New abstractions: What primitives let us break down complex software into reusable, composable pieces? How do we let users mix and match them without code

  • Integrations: How do we make connecting to third-party services, such as APIs, databases, auth providers, feel native? How do we handle failures, rate limits, and changing schemas without burdening the user?

  • Deployment: How do we make shipping software as easy as editing a doc? What abstractions let users go from idea to live product in minutes?

  • Quality & Reliability: How do we ensure that generated code is robust, understandable, and easy to debug? How do we help users catch mistakes before they reach production?

What you'll bring
  • 3+ years hands-on experience building production products and systems (we care more about what you’ve built than where you studied)

  • Motivation and high-agency to drive outcomes - we have a high-autonomy culture and each team member has lots of agency to overcome obstacles and achieve customer impact.

  • Experience and comfort to build and ship full-stack solutions.

  • You write clean, maintainable code, care deeply about quality, and have experience reviewing large PRs at scale

  • Proficiency in Next.js, React, and TypeScript

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
