As a Software Engineer Sr - Pega Developer within PNC's Treasury Management Service & Implementations Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA; Dallas, TX.
The Software Engineer Sr will join a highly visible team within Corporate & Institutional Banking that is transforming how large commercial clients establish and manage banking relationships. And develop enterprise-scale automation solutions that streamline complex account onboarding, compliance validation, customer due diligence, and servicing processes for large corporations operating across multiple locations.
This role combines deep Pega Platform expertise with strong technical design capabilities, solution architecture experience, and a passion for building scalable business process automation solutions in a fast-paced Agile environment.

  • Lead the technical design, architecture, and development of complex enterprise applications using the Pega Platform to automate banking onboarding, compliance, and servicing workflows.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable Pega solutions that support customer validation, due diligence, compliance verification, and operational process automation.
  • Design and develop sophisticated Case Management, Business Process Management (BPM), workflows, stages, case types, business rules, and decisioning capabilities.
  • Build and maintain applications utilizing Pega Constellation and modern Pega Infinity 24+ capabilities to deliver intuitive and responsive user experiences.
  • Develop and configure Data Pages, Data Transforms, Decision Tables, Activities, Report Definitions, and reusable application components.
  • Design and implement integrations using REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, JSON, XML, DX APIs, messaging frameworks, and external systems.
  • Partner with architects, project managers, business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Apply Pega Guardrails, platform best practices, and enterprise development standards to ensure maintainable and scalable applications.
  • Develop responsive user interfaces utilizing Pega UI/SAIL, views, sections, harnesses, portals, and Constellation-based experiences.
  • Perform application performance tuning, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
  • Manage deployments across development, QA, UAT, and production environments utilizing Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, sprint planning, estimation sessions, and architecture reviews.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers.
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives leveraging Generative AI and AI-driven capabilities within the Pega ecosystem.
  • Support critical production incidents and release activities, including occasional off-hours support. Production incidents and weekend release events are infrequent, generally occurring fewer than six times annually.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of overall software development experience in enterprise application development environments.
  • 3-4+ years of hands-on development experience using the Pega Platform to build workflow-driven business applications.
  • Strong expertise in Pega 7.x, Pega 8.x, and modern Pega Infinity 24+ environments for enterprise application development.
  • Experience designing solutions with Pega Constellation to create modern, responsive user experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of Case Management for managing end-to-end business processes and customer onboarding workflows.
  • Expertise in Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow automation for complex operational processes.
  • Hands-on experience developing Pega Rules, Process Models, Data Pages, Data Transforms, Decision Tables, Activities, and Report Definitions to implement business logic and decisioning.
  • Experience configuring Security, Access Groups, and application architecture components within the Pega Platform.
  • Hands-on experience building user interfaces with Pega UI/SAIL, views, sections, harnesses, and portals.
  • Strong experience developing integrations using REST APIs and SOAP Web Services to connect enterprise systems.
  • Experience working with JSON, XML, external APIs, and third-party system integrations.
  • Experience utilizing DX APIs to support modern user interface and integration strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for querying, reporting, performance optimization, and database troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
  • Working knowledge of Java/J2EE for extending platform functionality and supporting custom implementations.
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end customization and user interface enhancements.
  • Experience with application performance tuning, debugging, monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Experience utilizing Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices for automated builds and deployments.
  • Experience creating technical designs, application architecture documentation, and solution blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies with experience participating in sprint ceremonies and iterative delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Basic understanding of banking operations, customer onboarding, compliance processes, and financial services workflows.
  • Experience implementing Generative AI solutions or AI-powered capabilities within enterprise applications.
  • Experience with Pega Customer Service, Customer Decision Hub (CDH), Decisioning, or other Pega industry frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud-based Pega deployments and automated deployment strategies.
  • Experience designing solutions using event-driven architecture, messaging platforms, or microservices.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise platforms serving high-volume business users and transactions.
  • One or more Professional Pega certifications, including: Certified Pega Lead System Architect (CLSA), Certified Pega Senior System Architect (CSSA), Certified Pega System Architect (CSA), Certified Pega Decisioning Consultant (CPDC)
  • Prior experience within Banking, Financial Services, Corporate Banking, or Institutional Banking environments.
