What You'll Do
In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy robust software solutions to securely access, transfer, and transform raw patient data into high-quality, ready-to-use real-world evidence and data products. You will collaborate with Flatiron colleagues globally and work day-to-day with oncologists, clinicians, product leaders, quantitative scientists, and customers to understand their challenges and build technological solutions. In addition, you will:
- Develop and maintain various software solutions, including web applications and data processing pipelines, that meet the needs of a rapidly changing business.
- Construct scalable, and automated pipelines with observability and reliability in mind.
- Devise creative solutions to navigate tough business, security, and data privacy challenges.
- Apply software engineering rigor to data, including writing comprehensive unit tests and ensuring data quality across complex transformations.
- Be prepared to deploy solutions at hospital partner premises.
Who You Are
You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. In addition:
- You have 3 years of experience with software development using programming languages, such as C#, Java and Python
- You have 3 years of experience with web technologies (such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript) and backend frameworks (such as ASP.NET Core and Spring MVC)
- You have experience with relational database systems, such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
- You have 1 year of experience with Linux system administration
- You have experience working with infrastructure as code (IaC)
- You have business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English, and are comfortable having discussions with hospital partners/vendor companies in Japanese
- You are willing to travel to hospital partner premises to perform server operations when needed (the company will cover travel and meal expenses during the business trip)
Optional
- You have experience with developing or operating EHR systems or department systems
- You have experience with managing server hardware and network devices
- You have experience with development on AWS

- Work Hours: The normal work hours are 9:00 - 18:00. This role is eligible for the flex-time system.
