We're looking for a Software Engineer Lead to help lead the technical direction of our data platform. This is a hybrid, hands-on role requiring architectural thinking and experience — you'll design and help implement scalable data solutions in Microsoft Fabric, guide our Power BI development standards, help shape our emerging AI/analytics roadmap, and partner closely with DBA, DevOps, and application teams as we mature our architecture.

What You’ll Be Doing

    • Own and evolve our Microsoft Fabric architecture, including medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers), data pipelines, mirrored/non-mirrored databases

    • Bring expert-level knowledge of Power BI development, data modeling, and reporting standards

    • Help shape our AI roadmap by designing data architecture (semantic layers, medallion structure) that's ready to support future AI use cases

    • Partner with DBA, DevOps, and application teams to design scalable, production-ready data solutions

    • Bring a working understanding of SQL Server performance monitoring — how to interpret database logs, identify performance issues, and support high-availability, 24/7 production environments

    • Support API integrations for data access and exchange across systems

    • Design and maintain observability practices across the data platform — including semantic models, pipelines, warehouses, and SQL endpoints — using tools like Azure Log Analytics and KQL

    • Evaluate and recommend tools, patterns, and standards as we mature from report development toward a broader data + AI platform strategy

    • Contribute to technical de

What We’re Looking For

    • Senior-level experience in data solution design — schema design, system integration, scalability planning — with hands-on Microsoft Fabric and/or Power BI expertise

    • Experience designing data architectures (semantic layers, medallion structure) that are AI-ready; familiarity with Azure AI Foundry a plus

    • Strong SQL skills and experience with data pipeline design/optimization, with working knowledge of SQL Server performance monitoring concepts

    • Experience with medallion architecture and cloud data warehousing patterns

    • Hands-on experience with Fabric Data pipelines or similar pipeline/orchestration tools

    • Experience with API-based data integration

    • Solid understanding of the broader Azure ecosystem and its data-related services — App Services, VMs, Blob Storage, Log Analytics, networking basics

    • Python, Fabric notebooks/Spark, or exposure to MLflow/model registry concepts, and familiarity with Fabric's AI-adjacent capabilities

    • General exposure to or interest in AI-adjacent data patterns — e.g., natural-language-to-data querying or general familiarity with how AI grounding over data works conceptually

    • Working knowledge of PowerShell and/or Azure DevOps (ADO) dashboards/pipelines

What Will Make You Stand Out

    • Familiarity with Power BI Embedded or similar embedding frameworks

    • Hands-on experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, or emerging analytics patterns (real-time/streaming, natural-language-to-data querying)

    • Familiarity with RAG, vector/embeddings concepts, AI agents, or responsible AI/governance principles

    • Experience with statistical analysis, forecasting, or health-related analytics, especially in partnership with data scientists or product teams
