THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a contract opportunity
WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO
- Lead the current state assessment of Client's data platform, including architecture, tooling, data governance, and data flows.
- Design a future-state logical architecture based on:
- Business and customer needs
- Third-party research and benchmarks
- Prior experience with large-scale data platforms
- Develop a multi-phase roadmap for platform modernization, including migration strategy, capability buildout, and stakeholder alignment.
- Facilitate executive and stakeholder workshops to gather input, validate direction, and drive consensus.
- Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and IT teams to ensure feasibility and scalability of proposed solutions.
- Provide guidance on data governance, security, and compliance in the context of the new architecture.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience in data architecture, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture roles.
- Proven experience designing and implementing modern data platforms using: Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Oracle, Azure Synapse.
- Strong understanding of: Data lakehouse architectures, ETL/ELT pipelines, Real-time and batch processing, Data mesh and data fabric principles
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and hybrid data environments.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical architecture and articulate trade-offs.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data cataloging.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain domains is a plus.
