Overview: Shaping the Supply Chain E-commerce Ecosystem

The Solution Architect is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining the complete, end-to-end technical architecture for our integrated supply chain e-commerce platform. You will translate complex business requirements across Manufacturing (MES), Warehouse (WMS), and Order Management (OMS) into secure, scalable, and compliant technical blueprints. Your designs will ensure seamless integration between all core systems and our next-generation AI agent infrastructure.

Internship Details

Duration: 3 months
Start Date: Immediate
Location: Remote
Stipend: None initially. Based on your first-quarter performance, you may be offered a paid full-time opportunity, or even be absorbed directly by the client as an FTE.

Key Responsibilities & Core Projects

You will design the technical vision for our critical business flow: MES → WMS → OMS → Payments → Invoices.

  • Architecture & Design: Define the architecture (modular monolith/microservices) and API contracts for core modules (OMS, WMS, MES) built on Node.js 22/NestJS using TypeScript.

  • Multi-Tenancy & Security: Define the strategy for tenant isolation using PostgreSQL 15 with Row-Level Security (RLS) and architect the JWT-based licensing and feature metering system.

  • Infrastructure (IaC): Blueprint the deployment standards using Terraform and Docker with orchestration handled by Traefik on Oracle Cloud Free VMs.

  • Compliance & Observability: Ensure adherence to compliance (HS codes, export controls) and design the monitoring and tracing strategy using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

  • Technical Leadership: Lead architectural reviews and mentor engineering teams on domain modeling, performance, and best practices.

Required Technologies & Tools

Candidates must demonstrate expertise in system design and hands-on integration across this stack:

  • Backend/Core: Node.js 22, NestJS (Modular Monolith), TypeScript

  • Frontend Patterns: Next.js 14, React 18

  • Data/Storage: PostgreSQL 15 (RLS), Redis, Meilisearch, MinIO

  • DevOps/Infra: Terraform, Docker, Traefik, pgBackRest

  • Security/Auth: Authentik/Ory Kratos, Vault

AI Agent Focus

You will architect the platform for integrating advanced AI capabilities into our operational systems.

  • Agent Infrastructure: Design the systems for hosting and orchestrating multi-agent systems that securely access data from MES, WMS, and OMS.

  • Framework Integration: Define best practices for production AI agents utilizing frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or AutoGen.

Success Metrics & Career Path

Performance will be measured by:

  • Architectural Soundness: Delivery of scalable, secure, and well-documented technical blueprints.

  • System Resilience: Achieving defined SLOs for the core business process flow.

  • Compliance: Full and verifiable implementation of security and compliance controls (RLS, Vault).

Mentorship Structure: Reports directly to the Head of Technology/CTO, leading the architectural review board and mentoring senior engineering leads.
