Perficient’s Microsoft Cloud Business Unit is investing heavily in Microsoft Fabric services and governance offerings. We are seeking a Solutions Architect – Microsoft Fabric to accelerate this vision.

Job Overview:

As the senior authority for Fabric, you will:

  • Define the strategic roadmap for Fabric-based data-platform services, reusable IP, and delivery accelerators.
  • Lead enterprise engagements that span capacity migration (P- to F-capacities), Purview-driven data-governance, and tenant-wide adoption of Fabric experiences.
  • Partner with sales, alliances, and Microsoft field teams to shape pursuits, craft SOWs, and present solution visions to C-level and technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor and scale a geographically distributed team of architects, engineers, and analysts while championing best practices.

You will collaborate with Fortune 500 clients who are modernizing mission-critical analytics platforms—addressing performance, cost, and governance challenges—while building out Perficient’s Fabric center of excellence.

Perficient is always looking for the best and brightest talent and we need you! We’re a quickly-growing, global digital consulting leader, and we’re transforming the world’s largest enterprises and biggest brands. You’ll work with the latest technologies, expand your skills, and become a part of our global community of talented, diverse, and knowledgeable colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Own Fabric practice architecture
    • Author the reference architecture, standards, and reusable templates for Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI semantic layers.
    • Define OneLake organization patterns, workspace taxonomy, and naming conventions that scale across business units.
  • Establish tenant-level governance
    • Implement capacity planning (P-> F migration strategy, chargeback models, cost-optimization telemetry).
    • Integrate Microsoft Purview for lineage capture, sensitivity labeling, RBAC, and policy-based access control.
    • Build CI/CD pipelines and policy-as-code automation to enforce standards.
  • Drive solution discovery and design
    • Lead assessment workshops to capture current-state, pain points, and capability gaps.
    • Produce detailed architecture diagrams, epics, stories, and release plans aligned to phased roadmaps.
  • Delivery leadership
    • Guide multiple Agile squads through sprint planning, backlog grooming, and iterative releases.
    • Remove technical impediments, manage risks, and ensure quality via design reviews and architecture governance boards.
  • Presales & alliance collaboration
    • Create POVs, prototypes, and demos showcasing Fabric governance accelerators.
    • Develop level-of-effort estimates, staffing models, and SOW language for new pursuits.
    • Deliver client-facing presentations jointly with Microsoft GTM teams; participate in executive briefings and industry events.
  • Thought leadership & mentoring
    • Publish blogs, whitepapers, and conference talks on Fabric best practices and governance trends.
    • Coach architects, engineers, and data analysts; establish training paths and internal “Fabric Guild” meetups.
  • Continuous improvement
    • Track Microsoft roadmap, preview features, and funding programs—adjusting Perficient offerings accordingly.
    • Capture project lessons learned to refine IP, templates, and engagement playbooks.
Qualifications
  • 10–15 years architecting enterprise data-analytics solutions; 5 + years delivering Azure-based modern data platforms.
  • Deep, hands-on mastery of Microsoft Fabric, including:
    • Data Engineering (Lakehouse / Delta tables, notebooks, Dataflows Gen2)
    • Data Factory (ETL / ELT pipelines, ADF-to-Fabric migrations)
    • Data Warehouse (T-SQL, performance tuning, high-concurrency workloads)
    • Real-Time Analytics (KQL databases, Data Activator, streaming pipelines)
    • Power BI (semantic modeling, DirectLake, Composite models, deployment pipelines)
  • Proven track record designing and implementing tenant-level governance frameworks: workspace sprawl control, capacity management, cost show-back, security, and Purview-based lineage.
  • Successful leadership of at least 5 full-lifecycle Fabric/Synapse/Databricks modern-data-platform programs (discover → design → implement → optimize).
  • Consulting experience: presales estimations, SOW creation, team-structure definition, and executive-level presentations.
  • Required certification:
    • DP-600 Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
  • Preferred certifications:
    • AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate
    • PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst Associate
  • Expertise with CI/CD pipelines for Fabric assets (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), Infrastructure-as-Code, and policy automation.
  • Strong grasp of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, Well-Architected Framework, and data-governance best practices.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for both technical and executive audiences; able to translate complex concepts into business value.
  • Experience mentoring globally distributed teams and cultivating practice communities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • U.S.-based remote candidates welcome; willingness to travel (up to 25 %) for key workshops and stakeholder sessions.
