The Solutions Architect will own the technical sales cycle, develop solution demos, assess customer requirements, and lead integrations with VGS payment solutions while ensuring successful implementations.
VGS is the world's leader in payment tokenization. Large banks, aspiring fintechs, and growing merchants embed our universal token vault into their technology stack to manage the complexities of payment data tokenization across processors and networks, open banking, card issuance, omnichannel loyalty, PCI compliance, payment orchestration, and more. We empower our clients and partners by tokenizing sensitive payment data, limiting compliance scope, and consolidating payments to unlock revenue and business opportunities.
VGS provides processor-agnostic tokenization solutions via secure universal token vaults, iframes, mobile SDKs, tokenization proxies, APIs, and data orchestration tooling to support payment acceptance, card issuance, PII and bank account tokenization, and other payments value-added services. Some of the use cases we enable include multi-processor Network Tokenization, Account Updater, payment orchestration, secure settlement file processing, 3DS, and Risk provider connectivity.
We are looking for a Solutions Architect who is an experienced software engineer with a knack for identifying how business objectives can be fulfilled through technical solutions. You thrive when you interact with current customers and prospects to understand their goals and leverage technology to drive business value.
As a key part of all stages of the sales and implementation processes, you work as part of our go-to-market team to demonstrate how solutions using VGS help customers resolve issues and achieve business objectives. As a trusted advisor to the customer, you propose solutions based on your strong industry knowledge, in-depth product expertise, and business acumen. You thoroughly understand the capabilities of the VGS solutions and the benefits customers can realize by implementing them in their business.
What you will be doing at VGS…
- As the technical implementation expert, you will own the technical aspects of the sales cycle.
- Communicate product features and benefits to potential customers in pre- and post-sales situations, maintaining technical oversight throughout the implementation process to ensure a successful integration launch prior to final handoff.
- Develop and present custom technical demos that showcase specific features regarding how VGS can help prospective customers meet their business objectives.
- Conduct assessments of customers' requirements and define and architect VGS solutions to meet the needs of their business.
- Design solutions built on VGS capabilities to meet the prospect's business and technical requirements.
- Work with prospective customers' developers to implement proofs-of-concept integrating VGS and third-party components, focusing primarily on high-fidelity prototypes rather than deployed production infrastructure.
- Lead technical responses for RFIs and RFPs, collaborating with Account Executives and other stakeholders on proposal strategy and non-technical sections.
- Represent VGS at industry-specific trade shows, acting as the technical voice of the company.
- Effectively channel product feedback and enhancement requests to Product and Engineering team stakeholders.
What we are looking for from you (Requirements)...
- Minimum of 3 years of customer-facing experience as a software engineer, solutions architect, or sales engineer in a data, security, payments, or SaaS product company.
- Experience and understanding of the payments ecosystem and flow are preferred.
- Experience supporting commercial teams is also preferred.
- Proficient in web services, APIs, and full-stack development, and able to understand how a wide variety of technologies and systems interact with each other.
- Great communicator, comfortable explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences that can create technical solutions diagrams in an easy-to-understand way, and capable of structuring and presenting sales and executive-level slide decks.
- Comfortable writing production-grade code examples and reference implementations (not live production deployments) on top of VGS’s primary deployment languages: Python, JavaScript, Java, or Ruby.
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal, negotiation, and prioritization skills.
- Technical certifications such as CISSP or AWS Solutions Architect are a plus.
