About the role

We are looking for a Solutions Engineer to join our team in Santa Clara, working closely with customers to evaluate, prototype, and implement Agora’s real-time engagement products. 

This role is highly customer-facing and requires someone who is customer-centric, adaptable, and comfortable operating in high-visibility environments. The ideal candidate brings strong experience working directly with customers or stakeholders and is motivated by helping customers succeed through thoughtful technical guidance. 

You will partner with customer Engineering teams, internal product teams, and other Solutions Architects to deliver high-quality integrations and ensure successful adoption of Agora’s platform. While a solid technical foundation is important, this role places equal emphasis on communication, collaboration, and the ability to understand customer needs in real-world contexts.

What you'll do

1. Customer-Focused Solution Delivery 

  • Work directly with customers to understand their business goals, technical requirements, and success criteria 
  • Support customers in evaluating Agora products and building proof-of-concept applications 
  • Guide customers through implementation, integration, and optimization of Agora SDKs and APIs 
  • Translate customer needs into clear technical recommendations and solution designs 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in collaboration with customer and internal teams 

2. Solutions Architecture & Implementation 

  • Design and document solutions across mobile (iOS/Android), web, and backend systems 
  • Assist with SDK integrations and provide best practice guidance 
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to relay customer feedback and requirements 
  • Contribute to implementation plans and help ensure successful project outcomes 

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with Account Executives, Customer Success, and Product teams to support customer engagements 
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and workshops 
  • Help customers navigate technical decisions and trade-offs in a practical, business-aware way 

 

Qualifications

Customer & Communication Skills (Primary Focus) 

  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing role, preferably supporting high-profile or enterprise customers 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences 
  • Customer-first mindset with a focus on delivering value and building long-term relationships 
  • Comfortable leading or participating in customer calls, workshops, and technical discussions 

 

Technical Skills 

  • 2+ years of experience in software development or technical solutions roles 
  • Experience with at least one of the following: 
  • Mobile development (iOS or Android) 
  • Web development (JavaScript, React, or similar) 
  • Backend development (Node.js, Python, or similar) 
  • Familiarity with APIs, SDK integrations, and general software architecture concepts 
  • Exposure to real-time communication (voice/video), WebRTC, or similar technologies is a plus 
  • Interest or familiarity with AI-related technologies (LLMs, speech, etc.) is a plus 

 

General 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience 
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative environment 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-oriented approach 
  • Willingness to represent Agora at local meetups, and industry events as needed.
  • Ability to be present (commute) in the office minimum 3x per week.
