The Role

As a Solutions Engineer at Rhombus Power, you are a hands-on software generalist embedded directly with our national security partners. Much like the pioneering Forward Deployed roles in our industry, you will be the technical expert at the intersection of world-changing problems and impactful AI technology. You will rapidly understand our customers' toughest operational challenges and architect, build, and deploy custom solutions that leverage the Rhombus Power platform. This role is a mix of development and customer support, requiring you to be comfortable writing code (DevOps, frontend, and backend) while acting as the primary technical consultant.

Responsibilities

  • Work side-by-side with intelligence partners to deeply understand their missions, data workflows, and requirements for predictive insights.
  • Design, develop, and deploy tailored software solutions and applications utilizing the Rhombus Power AI platform.
  • Be a true software generalist, writing, testing, and maintaining production-grade code across the full stack—including cloud/DevOps configuration, backend data services, and interactive frontend user interfaces.
  • Provide technical consultation to partners, guiding them on the best use of our products to achieve their strategic business and mission goals.
  • Serve as the technical liaison, ensuring seamless communication between customer teams and Rhombus Power's core product engineering teams to influence product direction.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues in live operational environments, providing expert technical support and guidance to maintain mission continuity.
  • Travel to customer sites for deployment, integration, and operational support.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in a relevant technical role (e.g., Software Engineering, Technical Consulting, or Data Engineering).
  • Demonstrated experience as a software generalist, capable of contributing across the technology stack (DevOps, frontend, and backend).
  • Proven experience in a customer-facing capacity, including requirement gathering, solution presentations, or technical support.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go).
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems and system administration a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
