Position Summary
 
ON.energy is seeking an experienced and driven Sourcing Manager – DC Cabinets & Auxiliary Equipment to lead the strategic sourcing and supplier management of critical electrical and balance-of-system equipment supporting energy storage and infrastructure projects.
 
This role will own the sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, commercial management, and category development activities for DC cabinets and auxiliary equipment categories. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in supplier negotiations, category management, and technical procurement within the electrical equipment, energy storage, or industrial manufacturing industries.
 
The candidate will play a key role in ensuring supply continuity, cost competitiveness, supplier scalability, and commercial risk mitigation while partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.
 
Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership
  • Lead sourcing strategy and category management for: 
    • DC cabinets 
    • Auxiliary electrical equipment 
    • Balance-of-system components 
    • Electrical integration assemblies and supporting hardware 
  • Develop and execute long-term supplier strategies aligned with company growth objectives. 
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships with domestic and international manufacturers. 
  • Identify alternate suppliers and drive supplier diversification strategies to reduce risk and improve competitiveness. 
  • Lead supplier evaluation, onboarding, and performance management initiatives. 
Commercial & Contract Negotiations
  • Lead commercial negotiations including: 
    • Master Supply Agreements (MSAs) 
    • Pricing agreements 
    • Lead times 
    • Warranty terms 
    • Service and support agreements 
    • Payment terms 
    • Logistics and delivery schedules 
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality and schedule requirements. 
  • Negotiate contracts with a focus on scalability, supply continuity, and risk mitigation. 
  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams to finalize commercial agreements. 
Supplier & Cross-Functional Management
  • Partner closely with: 
    • Engineering 
    • Product Management 
    • Project Execution 
    • Manufacturing 
    • Quality 
    • Logistics teams 
  • Support technical supplier discussions and ensure alignment between product requirements and supplier capabilities. 
  • Drive supplier accountability for quality, delivery, responsiveness, and continuous improvement. 
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and product development initiatives from a sourcing perspective. 
Operational Execution
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, raw material fluctuations, and supply chain risks impacting electrical equipment categories. 
  • Manage RFQs, supplier comparisons, bid evaluations, and sourcing recommendations. 
  • Support procurement execution and escalation management for critical supply issues. 
  • Ensure compliance with company sourcing policies and regulatory requirements. 
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field. 
  • Minimum 5+ years of sourcing/procurement experience in electrical equipment, energy storage, industrial manufacturing, or related industries. 
  • Proven experience sourcing: 
    • DC cabinets 
    • Electrical auxiliary equipment 
    • Integrated electrical assemblies or industrial equipment 
  • Strong experience in contract negotiations and supplier management. 
  • Experience leading a sourcing category or owning supplier strategy. 
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. 
Preferred
  • Experience in renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), utilities, or power infrastructure industries. 
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, integration assemblies, and manufacturing processes. 
  • Experience managing global suppliers and international sourcing. 
  • Knowledge of supply agreements, Incoterms, and procurement risk management.
