Job Description:

As the Strategic Projects Lead, you will work directly with the Chief Academic Officer in ensuring the success of the Academic & Pedagogical Excellence (APEX) team. This high-impact role requires leadership, strategic thinking, and operational excellence. You will be the "force multiplier" for the APEX team, building relationships across the Product organization, leading high-priority surge projects, managing the operational rhythm of the department, and ensuring the leadership team stays focused on the most critical work. You will know our products well and have strong market awareness, helping the team stay ahead of market trends and competitors’ moves. You will be a standard-bearer for the APEX team’s high standards, love of excellence, delight in productive creativity, and belief in the transformative power of education.

Responsibilities:

  • Operations & Coordination: Strengthen collaboration between APEX and partner teams by building strong relationships with key individuals. Oversee the quarterly goal-setting process, coordinating with other product teams. Ensure that APEX team leaders know priorities, decisions, and deliverables. Alert the CAO to emerging blockers and risks to team progress. Help to establish a culture of excitement about innovation, improvement, and pedagogical excellence within the team.

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage high-priority, cross-functional projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met, resources are allocated effectively, and outcomes align with business objectives.

  • CAO Support. Work with the CAO to plan and track the CAO’s major deliverables. Co-create meeting cadence, purpose, and agendas. Run team operations when the CAO is externally engaged. Serve as a thought partner to the CAO, synthesizing complex information to assist with decision-making.

  • External Footprint. Attend external conferences or meetings with the CAO (approximately bimonthly) to gain a deeper understanding of the issue landscape and strengthen Amplify’s connections to influential organizations. Coordinate with the Government Relations team to help determine priorities for external work and thought leadership.

Who You Are:

  • Strategic. You can prioritize among conflicting demands. You can think both short-term and long-term.

  • Proactive. You take initiative and take first cuts at solutions.

  • Interpersonal. You can initiate and cultivate strong working relationships. You can relate to a wide range of stakeholders with tact, diplomacy, and emotional intelligence. You can influence events and decisions in a matrixed organization even without formal authority.

  • Operational. You are extremely strong in execution, organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience: 12+ in a high-growth environment (Strategy, Ops, Chief of Staff, or Senior Project Management) with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years of experience with a Master’s degree; or 5 years of experience with a PhD; or equivalent overall experience.

  • K-12 Context: (Preferred) Knowledge of the realities, needs, and aims of school systems and individual classrooms.

  • Tooling: Proficiency with a range of workplace productivity software and tools.
