We are seeking a driven and curious Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our growing actuarial team.  Reporting to an actuarial leader, this role contributes directly to actuarial decisions within one or more areas of the team while developing leadership skills through mentoring, project ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.  A key part of this role is serving as a bridge between actuarial and adjacent functions (such as Claims, Underwriting, Product and Programs, Finance, Reinsurance, Data Engineering, and Compliance), ensuring actuarial support is provided on cross-functional initiatives.  The ideal candidate combines strong communication skills with technical expertise, an eye for efficiency, and experience organizing, automating, and analyzing data for actuarial as well as other cross-functional analyses across an insurance company.

What will you do:

  • Perform actuarial analyses for assigned areas of the business, apply sound methods and judgment, and explain results and drivers to stakeholders.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain actuarial models, tools, and methodologies that support business decisions, with an emphasis on automation and efficiency.
  • Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes, and build and maintain automated workflows and reports in SQL, Python, VBA, or R that improve speed, accuracy, controls, and repeatability.
  • Translate reporting, regulatory, and analytical needs into clear data requests for Data Engineering and Program Managers, and act as an ongoing liaison on data sources, definitions, and quality.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to align how data is defined and reported so results are consistent across actuarial and other reporting.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Finance, Claims, and Reinsurance on program evaluation, new program onboarding, and portfolio analyses, providing clear insights and recommendations.
  • Use AI-assisted tooling and automation to improve actuarial models, analytics, and turnaround time, and help other teams strengthen their analytic and performance monitoring capabilities.
  • Mentor junior analysts by sharing knowledge, reviewing work, and supporting the actuarial student program.
  • Support monitoring of portfolio performance, profitability, and trends to inform business decisions and product strategies.

What we are looking for:

  • 5–8 years of experience in an actuarial role
  • Strong understanding of actuarial methods and analytics in the P&C industry, with sound judgment applied to one or more areas of actuarial work.
  • Experience and aptitude in one or more of pricing, reserving, assumed reinsurance, capital modeling, or claims analytics.
  • Propensity to use AI and automation to build tools and improve efficiency, with proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with coding languages such as Python, VBA, and/or R.
  • A minimum of 3 actuarial exams passed. ACAS or FCAS preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to present findings and recommendations effectively to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated interest in mentoring and contributing to process improvement and efficiency initiatives.
  • Able to work on-site 2-3x/week

We love people who want to:

  • Build strong relationships through transparency, trust, and respect for each other.
  • Work in an agile environment, with a resilient mindset to find creative solutions to challenges.
  • Collaborate and celebrate diverse perspectives, promoting inclusivity and equality.
  • Do the right thing with strong conviction and integrity.
  • Be bold and innovative to help make an impact.
  • Demonstrable track record of working autonomously and driving progress
  • Be intellectually curious, think creatively, and pragmatic
