The Role

As our Senior Art Director, you will own and evolve the visual expression of the Nex brand across marketing, product launches, and retail touchpoints. You’ll be the highest-level creative individual contributor focused on brand and marketing, balancing hands-on design with creative leadership.

This role is ideal for a senior creative who wants to define creative direction, lead campaign thinking, and raise the bar for visual quality; while still staying close to execution. You’ll partner closely with Marketing, Product, and external agencies to turn strategy into compelling creative work that feels distinctive, playful, and intentional.

What You'll Do

Creative Direction & Brand Stewardship

  • Define, uphold, and evolve Nex’s visual language across all brand and marketing channels.
  • Set a high bar for craft, clarity, and originality, ensuring all work feels cohesive and on-brand.
  • Lead creative concepting for campaigns, product launches, and brand initiatives, from early ideas through execution.
  • Provide strong creative judgment and clear feedback to elevate the work of others.

Campaigns & Product Launches

  • Lead the creative vision for product launches, including Nex Playground, accessories, and future products.
  • Develop campaign concepts, visual systems, and hero moments that scale across channels.
  • Oversee execution of launch assets across digital, retail, and owned channels, ensuring creative integrity end-to-end.

Digital & Marketing Channels

  • Own the creative direction for Nex’s website, social media, and email marketing.
  • Translate marketing strategy into compelling visual storytelling that resonates with parents and families.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all digital touchpoints.

Retail & E-Commerce

  • Set creative direction for retail and e-commerce experiences, including PDPs, templates, in-store materials, and marketplaces such as Amazon.
  • Balance brand storytelling with performance-driven retail requirements.
  • Evolve retail creative standards as the product ecosystem grows.

Collaboration & Execution

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product, and Growth teams to align creative with business goals.
  • Direct and collaborate with external agencies, freelancers, and vendors, providing clear creative guidance and feedback.
  • Contribute hands-on design work for high-impact initiatives when needed.
What You'll Bring

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in brand, marketing, or creative roles, either in-house or at an agency.
  • Proven experience leading creative direction for campaigns and multi-channel initiatives.
  • Experience working with and directing external creative partners.

Skills & Creative Strengths

  • Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to translate strategy into compelling visual ideas.
  • Excellent taste and attention to detail across typography, layout, color, and composition.
  • Fluency in modern design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.), with a focus on ideas and outcomes over tools.
  • Ability to both lead creatively and execute hands-on work at a high level.

Collaboration & Mindset

  • Clear, thoughtful communicator who gives constructive and actionable feedback.
  • Comfortable operating in a small, fast-moving environment with evolving priorities.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for creative outcomes.
  • Passion for building a brand that is playful, distinctive, and emotionally resonant.

Portfolio Requirements

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking, visual storytelling, and high-quality execution.
  • Examples of campaign-level work and brand systems are strongly preferred.
  • Clear articulation of your role in shaping creative direction and outcomes.

We Offer
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Flexible working hours and vacation policy.
  • Product-driven culture that treasures talents and individual growth.
  • Front-row seat and hands-on experience with cutting edge technologies in the evolving gaming field
