LRE (Leeward Renewable Energy) is forging an American energy future with integrity, innovation, and positive impact. Born in Texas in 2003, we own and operate over 30 utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects in local communities across the United States, totaling 4 gigawatts (GW) of generating capacity.

LRE continues to help meet increased U.S. energy demand through our robust pipeline of new projects every year. Domestic jobs and manufacturing are fundamental to our full-lifecycle approach to projects, along with a long-term ownership model and a company culture dedicated to our community partners and protecting the natural environment.

About this Role

The Senior Associate, Corporate Strategy plays a central role in shaping and executing the strategic direction of Leeward Renewable Energy. Sitting within the Commercial organization, this position partners closely with senior leadership and business unit leaders on market intelligence, growth strategy and management, process and technology optimization, and strategic initiative definition, business cases, and implementation. This is a highly visibility role for a driven, intellectually curious professional who thrives at the intersection of clean energy, business strategy, and best-in-class execution.

Responsibilities

Strategy Development & Analysis

  • Lead discrete components of enterprise and business unit strategy development, from establishing strategic theses through final recommendation.

  • Self-direct research and analysis agendas to support C-suite decisions, including market sizing, competitive benchmarking, and scenario modeling.

  • Perform complex financial and strategic modeling with limited supervision, synthesizing findings into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Support reporting on LRE’s corporate objectives and key performance indicators.

Market Intelligence & Industry Insight

  • Lead LRE’s market intelligence processes. Monitor and interpret shifts across North American renewable energy markets, including regulatory changes, emerging technologies (solar, wind, storage, hydrogen, etc.), policy developments, and evolving customer and offtake trends.

  • Translate macro and sector-level intelligence into actionable strategic implications for leadership. Recommend changes to LRE’s organic and inorganic growth strategy based on changing market conditions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Run LRE’s Build Plan process, including performing collaborative outreach to participating functions, data collection, quality assurance, and analysis, and leading monthly leadership meetings to drive alignment on and manage risk associated with LRE’s key investments.

  • Support the maintenance of LRE’s corporate valuation model, in conjunction with FP&A, and ensure all strategic inputs are current to the quarterly update cycle, co-aligned, and accurate.

  • Regularly engage with business unit directors and C-suite executives (with strategy / CCO oversight), representing well-supported strategic points of view.

  • Conduct guided external outreach  including conversations with industry participants, advisors, and partners  to inform strategic analysis.

  • Collaborate across finance, development, legal, and commercial teams to ensure strategy work is grounded in operational reality.

Communication & Stakeholder Influence

  • Structure and present high-quality analyses, recommendations, and strategic POVs through the CCO reporting structure and more broadly (with appropriate endorsement).

  • Exercise high discretion in framing and delivering insights to senior audiences, adapting communication style to different stakeholders.

Team & Initiative Leadership

  • May lead project teams or provide guidance to junior staff on focused strategy initiatives and workstreams.

  • Support implementation of strategic initiatives, coordinating across functions to track progress and surface issues.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of professional experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or market research.
  • 1–3 years of direct renewable energy industry experience required; candidates with adjacent clean energy or infrastructure experience encouraged to apply.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, with preference for Business, Economics, Finance, or Environmental Management / Sustainability.

  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong command of financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and strategy frameworks.

  • Deep familiarity with North American renewable energy markets, policy landscape, and competitive dynamics.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to craft executive-ready materials.

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

  • High degree of intellectual curiosity and comfort with ambiguity.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI requirements; Python or SQL is a plus.
