Position Summary
The Senior Director, Communications leads the brands' creative and communications strategy, directing both in-house and agency teams. This leader ensures all visual and conceptual assets align with business goals, oversees creative operations, and maintains brand standards across all campaigns — including PR, creative asset development, social media, influencers, and events / experiential. This is ownership of the Hype Machine.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Creative Leadership: Establish the overarching creative vision and drive the development of integrated marketing campaigns and brand narratives, working closely with Brand teams and the Growth Marketing team.
- Creative Operations: Design and optimize workflows, resource allocation, and production models to improve team throughput and speed-to-market.
- Agency Management: Manage relationships with external agencies and freelancers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Brand teams, product, and executive teams to ensure creative deliverables meet both strategic and operational goals.
- Influencer Capability: Lead the development and implementation of a best-in-class influencer capability in partnership with Paid Media leadership and contract support.
Job Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years in creative, communications, brand, or integrated marketing, with several years leading in-house teams and managing agency relationships.
Creative Judgment
- Proven track record building brand narratives and integrated campaigns across PR, social, influencer, and experiential channels.
Operational Rigor
- Experience designing creative workflows and production models that improve throughput and speed-to-market.
Leadership Skills
- Ability to recruit, develop, and inspire creative talent while holding a high bar for brand standards.
Working and Environmental Conditions
- Typically functions in an office environment.
- Use of computer, keyboard, and telephone required.
Physical Demands
- Requires sitting for extended periods.
- Requires time in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time.
