Leads the global marketing program management operating model, including GTM planning, budgeting, resourcing, agency operations, workflow systems, dashboards, and cross-functional launches. Partners with the CMO and international teams to improve delivery visibility, prioritization, and organizational efficiency. Builds and leads a global program management team while deploying AI-driven automation, tooling, governance, training, and measurement across marketing workflows.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Director, Program Management to serve as the operating backbone of the global Marketing organization. Reporting directly to the CMO, you will build and steward the operating model through which marketing programs and go-to-market efforts are planned, resourced, funded, sequenced, and delivered — across every marketing function and every international market we operate in.

This is not a role that manages a single portfolio. You will partner closely with growth, communications, marketing  (B2B+Brand) and regional teams, and be accountable for the connective tissue between them: the planning process, the marketing budget, the resourcing model, and the systems and tooling the org runs on. You will give the marketing leadership team a full overview “what are we shipping, what will it cost, who is doing it, and when will it land, as well as where a decision, dependency, or trade-off requires leadership attention.”

You will also be expected to lead with AI. We are not looking for someone to rebuild the program management function that existed five years ago — we want a leader who redesigns it around what AI now makes possible.

This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco or Los Angeles office. You must be willing to travel to our office two days/week.

What You'll Do:

Program & Go-to-Market Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end GTM operating model for marketing — from campaign intake and prioritization through briefing, launch, measurement, and retrospective — across all functions and markets.
  • Run the planning cadence (annual, quarterly, and campaign-level) that turns CMO strategy into a sequenced, resourced, and committed roadmap.
  • Drive cross-functional launches with Content, Product, Engineering, Data, Ad Sales, Legal, and Finance, creating clarity and accountability around scope, dependencies, decision-making, and timing.
  • Localize the model for international markets — build a framework that lets regional teams move fast and stay locally relevant without re-inventing global process.  As well as learnings to be shared across markets.
  • Establish a single source of truth for the marketing calendar, program status, risks, and decisions, and key work and learnings across markets — so teams can see what’s happening, anticipate collisions, and quickly identify where decisions are needed.

Budgeting & Resourcing

  • Own the marketing budget process in partnership with Finance: build it, track it, reforecast it, and tie spend to outcomes.
  • Build and maintain the resourcing model across in-house teams, agencies, and contractors — with real visibility into capacity, utilization, and where we are over- or under-invested.
  • Partner with functional leaders to Lead agency and vendor operations — including scoping, SOWs, performance reviews, and consolidation decisions.
  • Make trade-offs visible so the CMO and their leadership team can decide what to fund, what to defer, and what to stop.

Systems & Tooling

  • Own the marketing workflow and tech stack — project management, creative operations, asset management, briefing, approvals, and reporting.
  • Consolidate and simplify a fragmented tool landscape into a coherent system that people actually use. Prioritize adoption and usability over adding new tools or processes.
  • Build reporting and dashboards that give leadership real-time visibility into delivery, spend, capacity, performance and outcomes without manual status-chasing.
  • Define and steward the standards — briefs, intake, naming, taxonomy, approval paths, and definitions of done.
  • Reduce operational drag – identify and eliminate duplicate reporting, manual status chasing, unnecessary handoffs, and recurring meetings that can be replaced by better systems or clearer ownership.

Team & Influence

  • Lead a global program management team, developing managers and individual contributors across functional teams.
  • Operate as a senior partner to the CMO and marketing leadership team, preparing leadership reviews, business updates, and executive-level marketing narratives.
  • Raise the operating bar of the whole org — you will be measured as much on whether the team works faster, with greater clarity, and less friction as on what it ships.

AI & Automation

AI proficiency is a core requirement of this role, not a bonus. You will set the standard for how a modern marketing organization operates with AI in the loop.

  • Redesign workflows around AI — identify where briefing, status reporting, competitive tracking, localization, QA, and asset routing can be automated or agent-assisted, then actually ship those changes.
  • Evaluate and deploy AI tooling across the marketing stack, with a clear point of view on build vs. buy, cost, data governance, and brand safety.
  • Use AI in your own work daily — synthesis, planning, forecasting, documentation, and analysis — and model that fluency for the org.
  • Upskill the marketing organization, establishing practical guidelines, training, and guardrails for responsible AI use in partnership with Legal and Security.
  • Measure the impact — hold AI investments to the same bar as any other spend: cycle time, cost per output, and quality.

Your Background:

  • 12+ years of experience in program management, marketing operations, or GTM operations, including 5+ years building and leading teams.
  • Experience at a high-growth technology company or a major agency — ideally both — operating across multidisciplinary teams spanning brand, creative, growth, product, data, and engineering.
  • Proven ownership of a large marketing budget and a resourcing model spanning internal teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated international scope — you have run programs across multiple markets and understand the realities of localization, regional autonomy, and time zones.
  • Deep systems and tooling fluency — you have selected, implemented, and driven adoption of workflow and marketing operations platforms, not just used them (data analytics, BI software, project management, content management, sales enablement, and legal and finance tools).
  • Hands-on, demonstrable AI proficiency — you can speak concretely about workflows you have rebuilt with AI and the results you got.
  • Exceptional executive communication — you can distill a complex portfolio into a clear one-page narrative for a CMO or an executive team.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias to build — you are energized by installing structure where little exists, without smothering a creative culture.
  • Experience in streaming, media, entertainment, or another consumer subscription or consumer tech business, preferred.
  • Experience standing up a program management function from scratch, peferred.
