As Senior Electrical Engineer at Carbon Robotics, you will be a key part of the team that designs and lays out electrical power distribution systems, PCBs, control systems, and more. Not only will you architect and do detailed designs for the systems you own but you will also test and support them through production and post sales. You’ll do whatever it takes - which might include going to the farm - to ensure our customers have reliable and safe products.

What you'll do:

  • Design and integrate complete electrical systems including PCBs, control panels, power distribution, and wiring harnesses for revolutionary products
  • Lead trade studies and define electrical system architectures, taking into consideration a wide variety of stakeholders, for electrical systems spanning embedded systems, industrial controls, and power systems.
  • Own systems from cradle to grave including component level and integrated testing, introduction to production, and post sale support.
  • Design and validate a variety of high and low voltage systems including 240V AC 3-phase power distribution systems and 24V DC control circuits
  • Create system schematics, PCB layouts, industrial panel designs, and harness routing documentation using CAD and analytical modeling tools
  • Partner with mechanical and software teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical subsystems into production hardware
  • Drive technical decisions through project planning, task delegation, and cross-functional problem solving
  • Support contract manufacturers and provide technical guidance for production of electrical assemblies
  • Prototype, debug, and iterate electrical designs through hands-on testing and automated verification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:

  • 8-15 years experience designing complex electrical systems spanning embedded, power, and industrial applications
  • Proficiency in Altium (v18+) for PCB design and Capital Harness or similar for wiring design
  • Experience with high and low voltage systems, industrial controls, and safety systems (per SAE, ISO, IPC standards)
  • Strong background in both digital (microcontrollers, high-speed signals) and analog/power electronics
  • Extensive experience designing for harsh outdoor environments and protecting against mechanical, thermal, corrosion and ESD damage.
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS Electrical and mechanical integration workflows
  • Hands-on hardware debugging skills and experience with automated test equipment design
  • Knowledge of PLCs, industrial communication protocols, and sensor integration
  • Experience managing electrical aspects of projects through contract manufacturing
  • Past experience developing electrical systems for automotive, agricultural, or aerospace vehicles is highly desired.
  • BS+ in Electrical Engineering or related field
