SUMMARY

We are engaging a highly analytical, business-minded Sr. Financial Analyst on an independent contractor basis to support our growing organization. This engagement is ideal for an experienced consultant who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and wants broad exposure across executive leadership, private equity stakeholders, and cross-functional business teams.
The Contractor will play a critical role in delivering financial insights, supporting executive dashboards, board and investor reporting, and driving data-backed decision making across the company. The Contractor should be comfortable operating in a high-growth SaaS technology environment with strong rigor around metrics, forecasting, and performance analysis. The ideal contractor will also embrace the use of AI tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, surface insights faster, and modernize financial operations.
The Contractor will partner closely with Finance leadership, Revenue teams, Operations, Sales, and private equity partners to provide visibility into business performance and strategic opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes.
  • Analyze revenue, bookings, ARR, churn, retention, margin, and other KPIs.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through financial modeling and scenario planning.
  • Assist with annual operating plans and board-level financial presentations
  • Leverage AI-enabled forecasting and planning tools to improve speed and accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain budget vs. actuals reporting with variance analysis, including period-over-period and prior year comparisons to surface meaningful performance trends.
  • Build, audit, and maintain transparent financial models adhering to industry best practices (clear driver separation, error checks, dynamic linking, and version control).

Private Equity & Executive Reporting

  • Prepare recurring reporting packages for executive leadership, board meetings, and private equity partners.
  • Support requests from investors related to growth metrics, profitability, liquidity headcount, and operational performance.
  • Help maintain high standards of financial discipline, reporting accuracy, and accountability.
  • Drive process improvements exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to error-free work

Reporting & Data Analytics

  • Use AI tools to help surface trends and anomalies in business data.
  • Partner with data and systems teams to improve reporting automation and data integrity.
  • Support reporting for SaaS metrics, sales performance, and operational KPIs.
  • Create executive-ready summaries and visuals for leadership consumption.
  • Support adoption of Workday Adaptive Planning.

Cross-Functional Business Partnership

  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and HR leaders on performance reporting and decision support.
  • Evaluate ROI of strategic investments, hiring plans, GTM programs, and operational initiatives.
  • Support pricing analysis, compensation modeling, and business case development.
  • Drive ad hoc analysis for strategic projects and executive priorities.
  • Recommend process improvements through automation, AI, and smarter workflows.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSRequired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 2–4+ years of experience in an FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or related analytical role.
  • Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills.
  • Experience building dashboards and reporting in BI tools.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models and recurring revenue metrics.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, forecasting platforms, automation tools, etc.) in a business environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights to senior leaders.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
  • Experience working in a private equity-backed company.
  • Experience supporting board reporting or investor requests.
  • Familiarity with ERP, CRM, and planning systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Experience in a high-growth software or technology company.
  • Exposure to SQL, Python, or advanced analytics tools.
