This is a remote position.

We are seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant with deep, hands-on general ledger experience to join the JV team within the OM&S Remainder Team on the Army AFI program. This role focuses on financial reporting and mapping the GL impacts of transactions, with the goal of developing a reliable roll forward.

Building on that work, you will develop the program's material in transit reporting solution — mapping shipments to receipts so in-transit assets are reported accurately. You will also support ownership assertions by building a recurring monitoring metric from material ownership data.

Key Responsibilities

•      Prepare and support financial reporting for the JV team, ensuring accuracy and consistency with general ledger activity

•      Analyze transactions and map their general ledger impacts, including debit and credit postings across affected accounts

•      Develop, maintain, and reconcile account roll forwards (beginning balance, activity, ending balance) and resolve variances

•      Design and build the material in transit reporting solution by mapping shipments to receipts to accurately report in-transit assets

•      Support asset management by tracking and accounting for OM&S and other Army assets across their lifecycle, from shipment and receipt through ownership and reporting

•      Support material ownership assertions by developing a recurring monitoring metric using material ownership data

•      Document processes, data sources, and accounting logic to support audit readiness and repeatable reporting

•      Collaborate with JV team members and program stakeholders to identify data gaps and recommend corrective actions

Required Qualifications

•      Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Management/Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a field directly related to the position

o      A Master's degree in one of these fields may substitute for a Bachelor's in an unrelated field

o      In place of the degree, one active and current certification is accepted: CPA, CIA, CISA, CGFM, CDFM, PMP, SAFe, or ITIL

•      Four (4) years of Federal financial management experience; the Government will consider commercial experience in lieu of Federal experience

•      Hands-on general ledger experience, including preparing journal entries and applying debits and credits

•      Demonstrated experience mapping the GL impact of transactions end to end

•      Experience building and reconciling account roll forwards

•      Asset management or asset/property accounting experience, including tracking assets and reconciling them to financial records

•      Strong Excel and data analysis skills, including working with large transactional datasets

Secret Clearance or ability to obtain
Preferred Qualifications

•      Active CPA, CGFM, or CDFM certification

•      Federal or DoD financial management experience in general ledger management, financial reconciliation and flux analysis, asset/property accounting, or financial statement preparation

•      Audit readiness or audit remediation experience (FIAR), including support for management assertions

•      Experience with inventory, property, or operating materials and supplies (OM&S) accounting, including reporting material in transit

•      Familiarity with existence, completeness, and rights/ownership assertions

•      Experience with Army financial or logistics systems such as GFEBS or GCSS-Army, and USSGL

•      Experience building recurring metrics, dashboards, or monitoring controls (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar)

Core Competencies

•      Technical accounting depth: understands how a transaction flows through the ledger, not just how it reports

•      Analytical problem-solving: traces data across shipment, receipt, and ownership records to find and explain gaps

•      Builder mindset: turns one-time analysis into repeatable reporting and recurring metrics

•      Clear communication: explains accounting impacts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders

•      Attention to detail: produces audit-ready work that holds up to review
