Role Description

Salesforce delivers world-class events, both in-person and virtually. As a Senior Software Engineer in Event Technology, you will be building event attendee platforms aligned to our Future State Architecture, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional frontend experiences. Our commitment is to provide excellence in scalability and performance while delivering a high-end user experience. The ideal candidate will bring deep frontend expertise, a sharp eye for UI/UX quality, and enough backend fluency to contribute across the full stack.
This job requires that you be a quick learner and self-starter with the ability to work under pressure, meet aggressive deadlines, and handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. You should have the ability and enthusiasm to work in a fun, creative, and fast-paced environment. You are aware of trends and technical developments in the industry and how those can be applied in your work, and have a point of view on the delivery approach for very complex or foundational features.
"You build it, you own it." Our engineering teams are responsible for the ongoing maintenance of our systems. Therefore this role also requires active engagement on deployments, monitoring, incident management and response, vendor oversight, and general ongoing operations activities.
In this role you will:

• Lead the design and implementation of sophisticated, performant frontend experiences using Typescript and React, with a strong emphasis on component architecture, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.

• Own the visual and interactive quality of our attendee-facing platforms, collaborating closely with designers to translate concepts into polished, pixel-perfect UIs.

• Build and maintain a scalable component library adhering to our design system, ensuring consistency and reusability across products.

• Optimize frontend performance through techniques such as code splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies, and Core Web Vitals improvements.

• Integrate frontend applications with REST and GraphQL APIs, contributing to API design and contract definition in collaboration with backend engineers.

• Work in a Hybrid Engineering model and contribute to all phases of the SDLC including design, discovery, implementation, code reviews, automation, and testing.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with a focus on frontend quality.

• Contribute to backend services and infrastructure as needed, including API endpoints and AWS-based services, with support from backend teammates.

• Mentor and inspire team members through code reviews and dedicated sessions, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

• Drive technical excellence by establishing and upholding high standards for code quality, performance, and reliability.

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with the majority focused on frontend development in production environments

• Deep expertise of Typescript, React and Next.js, and modern JavaScript (ES2020+)

• Deep expertise of HTML, CSS, and responsive web design; experience with Tailwind CSS or Sass

• Experience with component libraries and design systems

• Solid understanding of web performance optimization and Core Web Vitals

• Practical experience consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs; ability to contribute to API design

• Familiarity with AWS services (such as Lambda, DynamoDB, AppSync) sufficient to work across the stack

• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines (such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions), and release management

• Monitoring and logging using tools such as Splunk, Catchpoint, or New Relic

• Proven experience leveraging AI tools (Claude, Cursor, etc.) in your daily workflows

• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams

• Agile methodologies: Scrum and Kanban

• Quick learner and independent worker

• A related technical degree required

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Salesforce CRM, Data Cloud, or Agentforce

• Mobile and cross-platform/browser test automation

• Knowledge of LLMs and AI-powered UI patterns

• Google Analytics and web analytics instrumentation

• Configuring Akamai or similar CDN

• Familiarity with Node.js or Python for backend services

• Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes

• SQL and NoSQL database experience (Postgres, MongoDB, etc.)

The typical base salary range for this position is $148,500 - $223,900 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $178,900 - $246,000 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
