Mercari is Your Marketplace. We make it super easy to sell (or buy) almost anything. We all have things we don’t use, never used or simply outgrew. But that stuff still has value. Mercari gives you the power to simply sell it, ship it, and earn some cash for it. Fashion to toys. Sporting goods to electronics. All the brands you know and love. Our mission is simple: to make selling easier than buying. And with 50M+ downloads in the U.S. and 350k+ new listings every day, we're just getting started.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will partner tightly with our Growth, Marketing, and Product teams to translate abstract growth opportunities into actionable insights. As a Senior Growth Data Analyst, you will prioritize business impact and you thrive in fast experiment-iterate cycles and take direct accountability for measurable business results.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Strategic Advisory & Insight Discovery:  You will proactively identify trends and anomalies in complex datasets. You will translate these findings into high-impact recommendations for senior stakeholders, moving beyond reporting to actively shaping the growth.
  • End-to-End Project Ownership: You will independently manage the full analytics lifecycle—from defining the business problem and gathering requirements to data cleaning, modeling, and final delivery.
  • Advanced Data Modeling & Architecture: You will design, build, and maintain sophisticated data models and automated dashboards that serve as single sources of truth for the organization.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: You act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Ops), distilling technical complexities into clear, actionable narratives for non-technical audiences.
  • Process Automation & Optimization: You identify and automate repetitive data tasks using SQL and Python etc. And you champion best practices for data governance, documentation, and code efficiency.

What you’ll need:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field

  • At least 8 years experience working in Data Analytics with large-scale data processing tools (SQL, Python etc)
  • Strong proven track records in growth, marketing, and direct business impact, with a willingness to explicitly own business impact.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL(Google Big Query)
  • Solid understanding of statistics, experimental design, and causal reasoning
  • Looker(LookML) developer experience a plus

Bonus Points:

  • Japanese language proficiency is a plus
