Overall Purpose

The Sr. Lead Product Manager is responsible for defining the strategy, roadmap, delivery, and ongoing evolution of product and engineering development lifecycle capabilities that enable the company to build and scale products effectively. This role sits within the Technology Operations team and serves as the product champion for enterprise workflow and product development lifecycle capabilities, with deep focus on Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Atlassian, and related tools and integrations.

The role builds alignment across Product, Product Operations, Program Management, Risk, Legal, Engineering, Engineering Operations, Compliance, and other key partners to identify pain points, prioritize opportunities, and deliver user-centered solutions that improve how products are planned, built, governed, and delivered. The Sr. Lead Product Manager combines strong product strategy, customer and stakeholder empathy, technical fluency, and hands-on platform expertise to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and measurable outcomes. This role may lead multiple interconnected capabilities or products within the enterprise product development lifecycle ecosystem.

Essential Functions

  • Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for product and engineering development lifecycle capabilities, aligning priorities to business strategy, user needs, risk considerations, and operational objectives.

  • Own and evolve the backlog for Jira, Jira Product Discovery, and related workflow capabilities, ensuring work is prioritized based on business value, scalability, user experience, and enterprise impact.

  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle across discovery, requirements, design, configuration, testing, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.

  • Partner across Product Management and business lines to create a cohesive, scalable, and consistent approach to product development lifecycle tooling and workflows across the enterprise.

  • Serve as the voice of the user and stakeholder, translating feedback and operational pain points into clear product opportunities, enhancements, and process improvements.

  • Work closely with engineering, IT, and external vendors to deliver new features, integrations, automations, and system enhancements.

  • Define and document product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional expectations to support high-quality execution and delivery.

  • Configure and optimize core Jira and Jira Product Discovery capabilities, including workflows, templates, issue types, views, automations, and related platform capabilities.

  • Ensure systems and tools are well integrated across the enterprise through APIs, middleware, data pipelines, and adjacent workflow technologies.

  • Drive rigorous testing practices, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, to support production-grade quality, reliability, and data integrity.

  • Develop and enhance reporting, dashboards, and visibility into operational and product performance to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate adoption, engagement, process efficiency, satisfaction, and other success measures.

  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders and resolve competing priorities by communicating product direction, trade-offs, dependencies, and expected outcomes clearly.

  • Lead change management efforts related to tooling and workflow enhancements, including communication, enablement, training, and adoption support.

  • Leverage market trends, platform capabilities, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled opportunities to improve workflows and user outcomes where practical and valuable.

  • Embed strong risk, security, control, and compliance considerations into product design and delivery, and support the company’s commitment to protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree.

  • Typically has 10 years of experience or demonstrated portfolio consistent with experience required of the role in product management, technical product management, business systems product ownership, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience owning strategy and delivery for complex products, platforms, enterprise applications, or workflow capabilities.

  • Experience leading cross-functional product initiatives involving product, engineering, operations, compliance, legal, risk, and other business stakeholders.

  • Deep functional expertise with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Jira Product Discovery, with the ability to translate business needs into configuration, workflow design, and platform improvements.

  • Demonstrated ability to define product vision, roadmap, backlog, requirements, and success measures for complex business or technical capabilities.

  • Strong product management fundamentals, including discovery, prioritization, roadmap development, user story writing, and iterative delivery.

  • Strong technical fluency, including understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows, system dependencies, and enterprise application environments.

  • Experience driving adoption and continuous improvement through stakeholder engagement, training, communication, and change enablement.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data and insights to prioritize opportunities and measure impact.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and create alignment across competing priorities.

  • Experience operating in regulated environments and incorporating risk, governance, security, and compliance considerations into delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting product development lifecycle, software delivery lifecycle, or enterprise workflow transformation initiatives.

  • Experience with Atlassian ecosystem administration, workflow automation, integrations, or adjacent tools used for planning, delivery, collaboration, and reporting.

  • Experience with Confluence and other related enterprise platforms or workflow technologies.

  • Experience in banking, fintech, payments, SaaS, or other highly regulated technology environments.

  • Experience with dashboards, KPI development, and reporting frameworks used to evaluate adoption, cycle efficiency, process health, and business performance.

  • Experience working with external vendors or platform partners to deliver enhancements and integrations.

  • Familiarity with agile delivery practices, sprint planning, release cycles, and operational governance models.

  • Experience identifying and applying automation or AI-enabled opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and user experience.

Physical Requirements

Early Warning works together in a highly collaborative office environment.  As such, working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The base pay scale for this position in:
Phoenix, AZ in USD per year is: $150,000 - $200,000.
San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $180,000 - $240,000.
Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
