DESCRIPTION:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Manager, Business Development and contribute to strategic growth in our commercial organization. In this leadership role, you'll develop and implement effective business strategies to expand our market presence and deliver comprehensive scientific solutions to our customers. You'll coordinate with teams while building and maintaining senior-level relationships with key accounts to improve market share and drive revenue growth.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll identify and develop new business opportunities, implement strategic plans, and ensure the successful execution of sales initiatives. You'll be responsible for tracking project pipelines, analyzing market trends, and providing valuable insights to senior management. This role offers the opportunity to promote Thermo Fisher's diverse portfolio of products and services while building long-term partnerships with industry leaders.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in business development or strategic sales with proven track record of achievement
• Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field
• Additional relevant business education or certifications valued
• Leadership abilities with experience managing and developing teams
• Demonstrated success in consultative selling and strategic account management
• Excellent project management and organizational skills
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building capabilities
• Proficiency in CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical and financial acumen with ability to develop and execute strategic plans
• Experience working effectively in matrix organizations and cross-functional environments
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 50% as required
• Industry knowledge of life sciences, pharmaceutical, or diagnostic markets preferred
• Experience in international business environments and working across cultures valued
• Proven ability to influence and coordinate activities across teams without direct reporting relationships

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $141,800.00–$175,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
