Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Compensation will play a pivotal role in leading and managing our global compensation programs. This role will focus on owning Workday, driving the annual compensation cycle, market pricing, survey submissions, job architecture, reporting and analytics, process improvement and automation, and data storytelling. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in compensation management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy: Provide strategic direction and leadership in the development and execution of compensation programs. Lead strategic projects to improve and evolve incentive programs and pay structures, while also leading routine activities with a strong focus continuous improvement. Influence senior leadership on compensation design changes and investment needs through compelling narratives.
- Coaching and Staff Development: Provide ongoing leadership coaching and support to develop capabilities of 3 compensation analysts on the team. Provide a clear vision, daily coaching and guidance, and opportunities to stretch capabilities and think in creative ways to make ongoing improvements in skills and work output.
- Workday Ownership: Partner with HRIS team and translate feedback and business requirements into roadmap of enhancements to the Workday compensation module, ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency. Provide training and support to HR and business leaders on Workday functionalities. Establishing a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing the Workday system and processes. This includes gathering manager feedback, staying updated with the latest Workday features and best practices, and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
- Annual Compensation Cycle: Lead all aspects of the Annual Compensation Planning cycle, including system setup, strategy development, communication and training materials including comp statements, timeline management, budget reconciliation, and administrative updates as required for all compensation components (base pay, bonus, and equity).. Ensure alignment with company compensation philosophy and market competitiveness.
- Market Pricing and Survey Submissions: Conduct market pricing analysis to ensure competitive compensation packages. Participate in compensation surveys to collect and analyze market data. Ensure timely and accurate submission of survey data.
- Job Architecture: Own the governance of job architecture, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational goals. Develop and maintain job descriptions, job families, and career paths.
- Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain compensation reporting and analytics dashboards. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making.
- Process Improvement and Automation: Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes and implement automation solutions. Streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Data Storytelling: Leverage data to produce executive summaries that support compensation program design. Influence senior leadership on design changes or investment needs through compelling data narratives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in compensation management or a related field.
- 2-4 years of people leadership experience.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Smartsheets, Tableau).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with compensation survey tools and market pricing software (e.g., Payfactors, Workday) is required.

The annual base pay for this position is: $164,306.00 - $246,458.00
F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
