The Sr. Manager of People Operations leads the HR team to develop people strategies, improve employee experience, and ensure compliance with employment laws.

The Sr. Manager of People Operations Manager leads the HR team and is responsible to find, develop, motivate, and retain the high impact team at Gator Bio. This position will work across all areas of the company to develop and implement people strategies to achieve the company’s long-term success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the leadership team to execute the company’s goals and strategies related to staffing, recruiting, retention, performance management, compensation and rewards, staff relations, and people development.
- Oversee the administration of human resources programs including, but not limited to, headcount, compensation, benefits, leave of absence, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity recognition and morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development
- Build, challenge, and motivate the Gator Bio team. Develop a comprehensive rewards and recognition system.
- Develop and lead initiatives driven by HR analytics to improve employee performance, satisfaction, and retention.
- Provide human resources support and consultation across the business on the most complex issues, supporting staff, managers, and executives in decision making to scale the company effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor and ensure the company's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend the best practices; reviewing and modifying policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; and apply this knowledge and communicate changes to the leadership team.
- Communicate with employees about compensation, benefits, and other facets of their employment whenever necessary.
- Facilitate performance reviews, professional development, training, and certification for staff. Identifies top and poor performers to reward or correct.
- Manage pre-tax benefits, ancillary benefits, and COBRA administration, etc.
- Manage international personnel matters and programs in EMEA and Asia
- Perform exit interviews to analyze the company’s status.
- Create and own the strategy, analysis, processes, and implementation to ensure that the company offers an exceptional employee experience.
- Mentor and lead the People Operations team to complete POPs programs, projects, and initiatives. Own all People Operations Manager related activities.
- Communicate and coordinate with global teams.
- Work in office.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Any additional duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years’ experience in HR management position in an organization with 50+ employees in the USA.
- High motivated to grow and contribute.
- Prior experience in managing European and Asian POPs required.
- Start-up experience is desired.
- Experience in the biotechnology/life-science industry is a plus.
- PHR/SHRM certification a plus.
- Experience with Lattice, BambooHR, and Lever is a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills; interpersonal and negotiating skills, organizational skills; time management skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Ability to work regular hours in office.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite / Office 365.
- Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles.
