Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage strategic sourcing functional areas including planning, purchasing, materials specification, logistics, supplier contracts.

  • Develop and lead a high-performance team, directs the recruitment and development of staff.

  • Establish and communicate high performance standards, define clear accountability, and lead by adopting improvement strategies to reduce operational variances and increase efficiency.

  • Train team to work with Sales to analyze upcoming projects by identifying and resolving potential roadblocks (i.e. logistics, unfamiliar materials). Recommend preferred materials and sources same at best possible price point.

  • Negotiate supplier contracts, when appropriate, to manage suppliers/vendors.

  • Build effective partnerships with department heads to help drive the business toward achieving company objectives.

  • Manage cost savings and performance measurement systems for supplier contracts. Where appropriate, track, analyze and report cost savings against investment proposals, capital expenditure and contract spend commitments. Utilize and manage reporting procedures that meet the internal needs of Finance, Legal, Procurement and Compliance.

  • Foster a safe and environmentally sustainable workplace by ensuring compliance with all PCI EHS policies and procedures.

While performing the duties the employee is:

  • Constantly required to sit, and to reach to use computers and other office equipment

  • Occasionally stand for extended periods of time, up to four (4) hours/time.

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Constantly required to view objects at close and distant ranges with hand and eye coordination

  • Frequently required to communicate with others

 Employee will work with moderate noise levels.  Employee will perform tasks while experiencing numerous interruptions.  Employee may travel by car and airplane to work at different locations and may occasionally be required to travel overnight. The work environment is fast-paced and demanding. This position has the utmost responsibility for compliance with the rules and regulations regarding a safe and healthy work environment relative to their actions and conduct. Off-shift, weekend and overtime duties may be required.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the stated position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • MBA preferred or equivalent MA degree.  Membership of professional body such as ISM, APICs or CIPS.

  • 10+ years related experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in GMP environment.

  • Expert level ability to think strategically, articulate a clear vision and align the procurement strategy to business objectives.

  • Awareness of the key principles and relevant sources of information on corporate social responsibility

  • Understanding of operational procurement practices and processes and the ability to apply them

  • Understanding of Category Management, Collaborative Procurement and Strategic sourcing approaches and the ability to apply them

  • Ability to actively manage contracts, ensuring performance standards are achieved and benefits realized

  • Ability to proactively manage and develop strong working relationships with stakeholders by building trust and understanding

  • Ability to work in partnership with stakeholders to manage and develop strong working relationships with suppliers

  • Understanding of competitive market in which suppliers operate and proactive management to maximize opportunity

  • Understanding the principles, strategies and tactics of effective negotiation and ability to apply them effectively

  • Understanding legal implications and aspects and their relevance to Procurement

  • Understanding of current systems and future system development

  • Understanding of costs and prices and the ability to apply the tools and techniques of financial assessment

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain and corresponding regulatory compliance.

Benefits

The hiring rate for this position is $133,920 - $150,660 per hour plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to specific and relevant experience, education, credentials, geography, and subject matter expertise. PCI offers full-time employees a competitive benefits package that includes paid time off, health insurance coverage (including dental and vision), a flexible spending account, and a 401(k) plan.
