Job Summary
The Senior Technical Implementation Manager leads complex healthcare software implementations, serving as a key partner in delivering solutions across the revenue cycle and healthcare data exchange ecosystem. This role plays a critical part in managing technology change, overseeing data integrations, and supporting system configuration and validation, including hands‑on interaction with databases and SQL‑based analysis.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Senior Technical Implementation Manager drives implementation milestones, translates technical and operational requirements into executable plans, and ensures successful deployment of solutions leveraging HL7 v2, FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), Epic Bridges, Cloverleaf, and other interface engines (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth Connect/NextGen Connect, Corepoint), plus data extracts and API-based integrations. The role requires strong analytical thinking, the ability to interpret and work with healthcare data, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Through close coordination with cross-functional teams, this position helps deliver reliable, high-quality implementations that meet client needs and project objectives.

Essential Job Functions

Manages multiple simultaneous end-to-end implementations of Ensemble’s solutions, serving as the key business contact for stakeholders and client IT and ensuring satisfaction throughout the implementation
Directly manage a team of Analysts and Managers where appropriate
Drives team members’ documentation of existing operational and data integration processes and gathering of requirements needed to build product configurations for business rules, workflows, and data mappings
Drives improvement and standardization initiatives across implementation processes and functions
Maintain Ensemble’s baseline data specifications for HL7 v2, FHIR, Epic Bridges, Cloverleaf, other interface engines, data extract, and API data exchange methods
Manage project deliverables, next steps, risks, and issues for the implementation
Escalate key stakeholder/client IT concerns or team concerns to direct leader when appropriate
Build and maintain a strong knowledge of Ensemble’s solutions, processes & procedures, data exchange methods, and healthcare domain
Build and maintain a strong knowledge of Ensemble’s software, data feeds, and database tables to effectively communicate data requirements
Manage the improvement of Ensemble’s data integration and implementation methodology as a whole, and contribute to Ensemble’s organizational objectives
Maintain strong understanding of client EHR workflows and systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
Qualifications
Experience leading healthcare software implementations, supporting solutions across the revenue cycle and healthcare data exchange environments
Proven track record managing technology change, including system configuration, upgrades, and process transitions during implementations
Hands-on experience with data integration, including HL7 v2 interfaces, FHIR APIs, Epic Bridges, Cloverleaf, and other interface engine workflows, plus data extracts and other API-based integrations
Ability to navigate and analyze databases using SQL, supporting data validation, troubleshooting, and implementation activities
Demonstrated success collaborating with cross‑functional teams (technical, operational, and client‑facing) to achieve project milestones
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
Analytical and critical‑thinking capabilities applied to problem‑solving, data review, and implementation decision‑making
Experience delivering implementations that meet project timelines, quality standards, and client expectations
7–10 years of relevant professional experience, including enterprise or healthcare‑focused technology implementations
5+ years of people leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching, or managing project teams
5+ years of experience in a technology implementation role managing multiple simultaneous technology implementation projects
Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experienced in data integration, data analytics, and software workflow design (e.g., using SQL server or equivalent to query large data sets, creating technical process flows, learning database tables, creating .json/.txt files.)
Experienced in project management (e.g., lead meetings, manage project plans, track issues, identify risks, develop/monitor resource plans, etc.)
Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) systems Ability to work on multiple projects at once, prioritize and execute many tasks, and resolve issues quickly
Solid understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM), including patient access, registration/admission, and patient financial services
Advanced understanding of data analytics, cloud-based software, data integration techniques, QA processes
Experience building relationships and managing stakeholder relationships with executive stakeholders (Director and above)
Experience managing internal and/or external resources to execute on deliverables
Keen attention to detail, self-motivated, and service-oriented
Strong social awareness and an outgoing, positive attitude
Skilled at listening and sending clear, convincing, and well-tuned messages (both verbal and written)
Coachable, hungry for feedback, and dedicated to continuous self-improvement
Cross-team collaboration and communication skills
Solid understanding of workflow systems and their application to business process improvement
Dedication to remaining current with changes and advances in the healthcare industry
Experience implementing process improvement initiatives and creating new methodologies for an organization
This position pays between $111,800-167,700 based on experience
Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
