We collaborate and innovate – pushing one another to transform not just Pacific Life, but the entire industry for the better. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. Pacific Life is more than a job, it’s a career with purpose. It’s a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future – including your own.
We’re actively seeking a talented Senior People Business Partner to join our team in Newport Beach, CA.

As a Sr. People Business Partner you will operate as a senior people strategist  and thought partner to executives across global teams, accountable for shaping workforce and organizational decisions that drive business outcomes.  In this role, you will shape and execute enterprise-level talent and organizational strategies, influence leadership decision making, and deliver data-backed insight that materially impact business performance and readiness.

This is not a generalist HR role; it is a senior‑level people business partner position requiring strategic judgment, enterprise perspective, and independent decision‑making. Job level and compensation may vary based on skills and qualifications of the candidate.

How you’ll help move us forward:

Talent Strategy, Leadership Development & Workforce Planning

  • Lead global talent planning and workforce strategy discussions, including succession planning, capability assessments, and workforce design, with accountability for identifying risk and readiness gaps.

  •  Influence senior leaders to make intentional talent investment decisions that build critical capabilities (e.g., AI fluency, digital skills, and adaptability) aligned to future business needs.

  • Provide coaching and tools that enhance leadership effectiveness, team performance, and organizational capability.

Organizational Effectiveness & Change Leadership

  • Assess and shape organizational structures and operating models; recommend improvements that enhance effectiveness, scalability and sustained performance.

  •  Partner with and challenge senior leaders in navigating transformation and change, strengthening organizational readiness, execution discipline, and cultural alignment.

  • Drive initiatives that strengthen workforce agility and cross‑team collaboration.

AI‑Enabled Insights & People Analytics

  • Use advanced analytics and AI‑enabled tools to uncover workforce trends and inform senior‑level decisions

  • Convert complex workforce data into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations that drive leadership action

Culture & Global Employee Experience

  • Co‑lead global culture and engagement strategies that reinforce high performance, accountability and enterprise collaboration.

  • Provide senior‑level guidance on employee experience and organizational engagement themes.

  • Identify and address systemic barriers that impede performance, engagement, or scalability across global teams.

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree,  Master’s in HR, Business, or related field preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years as a People Business Partner, partnering with and influencing senior leaders on complex organizational and workforce decisions

  • Strong background in talent strategy, organizational design, workforce planning, or leadership development.

  • Advanced proficiency with analytics, insights, and AI‑enabled HR tools.

  • Exceptional influencing skills and executive presence, with the ability to lead through ambiguity.

  • Experience working in complex, global, or matrixed organizations.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Proven ability to diagnose organizational challenges and architect scalable solutions.

  • Strong data storytelling skills—able to turn analytics into clear, compelling leadership insights.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive culture, inclusion, and change‑readiness across global teams.

  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging HR technology, AI, and digital transformation.
