The focus of the position will be to act as subject matter expert for assigned products and processes with a focus on plate and frame filter press technologies.  This includes planning and executing product development projects to continuously expand the scope of revenue-generating products, directing improvements to mature product lines to enhance performance or reduce costs, thereby extending product life cycle and providing technical support to UCC personnel for assigned products.  This position provides technical support and oversees projects executed by direct reports to ensure that projects meet schedule, budget, and performance goals.


The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capabilities in collaborating with others to perform engineering tasks within a team environment. Work experience with a privately held company will be beneficial.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Project Engineer will:

  • Serve as subject matter expert for assigned products, including the development of new products and maintaining and improving mature products.  Review requested product modifications and new product offerings and recommend project priority based on revenue potential.
  • Participate in executing assigned projects and manage projects assigned to direct reports such that schedule and budget requirements are met, and report such progress in documentation that is updated throughout the project
  • Provide support in directing conceptual design, engineering, calculations and analysis, manufacturing, and testing associated with assigned projects.  Develop support documentation for designs that is accurate and complete, and in compliance with departmental standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor of Science in engineering is required (i.e. chemical, mechanical, or environmental).
  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in design of plate and frame filter presses or similar technology
  • General business acumen

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks products preferred).
  • Must be willing to travel 5-10% of the time to various plant sites.

Essential Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk using a computer 80% of the time.
  • Ability to accommodate varying work schedules.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Pay Range: $120,000 to $150,000 annual pay based on skills and experience
