Job Description

The Sr. Project Manager, R&D - Biogen West Coast Hub is a position accountable for providing strategic and operational drug discovery and development leadership across the West Coast Hub business unit portfolio, integrating drug development across all functions and translating strategy into execution to deliver medicines to patients.

 What You’ll Do

  • Ensure internal functional alignment, create and maintain integrated project timelines and scenarios, trac and verify completion of project deliverables and milestones, identify and mitigate project risks, and ensure timely communication to relevant partners via regular and ad-hoc status reports.

  • Collaborate with Project Teams to create and execute project plans and delivery of project milestones

  • Drive decision making and team effectiveness

  • Manage project team meetings

  • Collaborate with other West Coast Hub program managers and leadership to ensure alignment across the portfolio and indications

  • Partner with the Business Operations & Analytics team to develop, update, and optimize internal dashboards for the West Coast Hub and broader team visibility

  • Facilitate ongoing training for team members, ensuring consistent utilization of SharePoint sites and internal tools to support standardized workflows and cross-team alignment

Who You Are:

You work collaboratively with your global cross-functional project teams to progress the R&D portfolio.  You ensure high quality project planning and execution of drug development programs. You are detail-oriented, can manage multiple priorities and tasks efficiently, and can adapt and thrive in a rapidly moving matrix environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Engineering is required. Advanced Degree preferred. PMP certification is a plus.

  • Minimum five years of experience in an R&D scientific and/or R&D project management role is required.

  • Proficient understanding of R&D drug discovery and development processes, in one or more drug modalities, in the biopharmaceutical industry is required.  Experience with late-stage development, marketed products, and/or managing collaborations is a plus.

  • Outstanding ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to communicate to a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Commitment to a customer-first culture and motivation to solving complex problems and leading teams to success.

  • Proven ability to network and collaborate across multiple teams with flexible, positive attitude and ability to get results.

  • Proficiency with integrated timeline/gantt chart development and technical experience with project management systems & collaboration tools is a plus. (e.g. Planisware, Smartsheet, OnePager Pro/Express, MS Teams, O365 Sharepoint)

  • Regulatory/Filing team support is a plus.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $137,000.00-$184,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
