PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Immediate opportunity for a talented Principal Quality Engineer to join a team of software professionals developing the revolutionary EMC ‘Data Computing Appliance’ (DCA), based on the massive scale parallel database and information-processing platform. 

Job Duties 

• Collaborate effectively with Product Development, Product Management, Performance Engineering, and other Global Test organizations in developing a comprehensive QA Strategy for the DCA 

• Develop and Drive innovative testing solutions that meet market and business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability. 

• Perform effective root cause analysis to narrow down the problem area, across the various software applications and components of the appliance such as servers, storage, switches, etc. 

Desired Skills and Experience 

Requirements 

• Strong experience with testing Cluster Distributed type of appliances such as NetApp, EMC VNX, Oracle Big Data Appliance. 

• Experience in Big Data application 

• Red Hat – security updates 

• In depth knowledge of Linux 

• Experience in Hadoop and virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Xen will be a plus 

• Strong QA experience in functional, fault tolerant and system level testing 

• General understanding of networking, security and Disaster Recovery 

• Test automation experience using perl and/or python 

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to write clear and concise test design documents 

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, in a fast paced environment with little guidance
