Job Description
- Perform month-end close, related entries and account reconciliation and analysis for monthly revenue, deferred revenue, deferred costs and other account reconciliations.
- Assist with accounting research on revenue recognition documenting company’s conclusions and proper accounting treatment as required.
- Ensure the proper revenue recognition in accordance with the revenue policy and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) including, but not limited to multiple-element arrangements, customer incentives, software licenses and maintenance.
- Identify revenue recognition issues and work with management to review the business process and record appropriate reserves.
- Review contract terms and conditions to determine appropriate revenue recognition
- Perform special projects as requested
- Perform research and work on special projects as requested
- Ad hoc revenue related analysis and reports
- BA/BS in accounting
- Well organized
- 7+ years of experience
- Experience in Revenue recognition literature (EITF 08-1/09-3, SOP 97-2/98-9, EITF 00-21, SAB 104) for a publicly-traded technology company.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and oral communication
- Ability to problem solve and research on special projects as requested
