About the Role

As a Sr. Staff DevOps Engineer, you own the infrastructure powering our Verification and Validation (V&V) engine. Reporting to the V&V team, you support the Team Lead in architecting CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and the automated regression farm. You serve as the strategic bridge to Corporate IT and the primary integrator for Hyundai’s global systems, ensuring high-velocity delivery for safety-critical firmware.

Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Architecture: Own and optimize GitLab CI and Jenkins pipelines to drive firmware builds and automated regression triggers.

  • Build & Farm Management: Manage the build system (Bazel/Yocto) and the underlying infrastructure for the physical and virtual regression farms.

  • System Integration: Lead technical integration between internal 42dot environments and global Hyundai corporate systems/toolchains.

  • Custom Tooling: Develop Python/Bash scripts and internal tools to streamline workflows for V&V, Firmware, and Silicon teams.

  • Backend Infrastructure: Manage engineering services including FlexLM license servers, artifact repositories, and high-performance compute clusters.

  • IT Liaison: Act as the primary technical contact for Corporate IT to resolve networking, storage, and security requirements for the V&V environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 12+ years in DevOps or Build Engineering within embedded/hardware-centric environments.

  • CI/CD Mastery: Expert-level experience with GitLab, GitLab CI, and Jenkins at scale. Build Mastery: Expert proficiency in Bazel and experience with Yocto/OpenEmbedded.

  • Automation: Advanced Python and Bash skills for tool development and system integration.

  • Core Infrastructure: Proven experience managing Linux clusters, Kubernetes, and License Servers (FlexLM).

  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to interface with Corporate IT and align roadmaps across matrixed organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Corporate Integration: Experience migrating or connecting toolchains across large-scale global organizations.

  • Safety-Critical: Familiarity with toolchain qualification for ISO 26262.

  • Cloud: Experience with hybrid-cloud (AWS/GCP) optimized for high-throughput testing.

  • Education: BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
