Position: Sr. Staff Software Engineer
Location: 141 W. Jackson Blvd., Ste 500, Chicago, IL 60604
Responsibilities: Facilitate alignment and collaboration across multiple engineering teams to achieve business objectives. Actively guide group discussions and drive consensus. Mentor engineers throughout the organization while serving as
a technical subject matter expert. Architect and own significant portions of the company's platforms and applications, leading engineering initiatives from conception through delivery. Shape the medium-term technical roadmap by identifying and addressing areas of highest priority. Promote simplification and efficiency by reducing technical debt, complexity, and manual processes to accelerate reliable delivery. Anticipate product-level technical risks and design solutions to prevent or mitigate them. Align team milestones with broader client and organizational goals. Act as a strategic advocate, communicating business and technical context to ensure organizational alignment. Provide expert input into strategic plans and influence decisions at the organizational level. Lead medium- and large-scale projects with departmental or cross-functional impact. Tackle complex, ambiguous technical challenges requiring evaluation of intangible factors and creative problem-solving. Build and manage formal networks across teams to foster coordination and information flow.
Educ./experience: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate
experience as a Software Engineer or in a related position, within the trading or finance industry. Experience must include mentoring at least 5 engineers, experience leading projects, tracking progress, and demonstrating accountability throughout the lifecycle, SQL, NoSQL, Golang, Redis, MongoDB, and AI tooling and infrastructure.
Salary range: $108,077 - $210,000/year
