About the Team
The Solution Design & Services (SD&S) organization serves as the pre‑sales technical arm of Ingram Micro. As the first technical touchpoint for many of our partners, SD&S plays a critical role in shaping customer engagement and enabling partner success across our ecosystem.
This position is part of our Build Team, which focuses on delivering high‑quality solution configurations and technical build services.
About the Role
We are seeking a Sr. Technical Solutions Engineer with strong Dell expertise to act as a technical leader within SD&S. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our pre‑sales team and reseller partners to scope, size, and architect complex Dell‑based solutions.
You will serve as a subject‑matter expert for Dell technologies, validate solution designs, and ensure technical accuracy throughout the build process. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to elevating the technical capabilities of the broader team.
What We Look for in a Strong Candidate
- Hands‑on experience with Dell enterprise solutions
- Strong attention to detail in technical design and documentation
- Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into well‑architected solutions
Key Qualifications:
- Prior Dell experience as a Datacenter Sales Executive (DCSE), Solutions Architect (SA), or experience working with Dell Technical Advisors (TAs)
- Ability to design, size, and build complex Dell infrastructure solutions
- Channel experience is preferred but not required

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Pre‑Sales team and reseller partners to scope, size, and architect Dell‑based solutions
- Build complex configurations across Dell storage, compute, and data protection portfolios
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor within SD&S
- Maintain relevant industry certifications and identify training opportunities for the team
- Represent SD&S in partner engagements, vendor initiatives, and industry events
- Develop strong customer and vendor relationships, becoming a trusted advisor
Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience designing and implementing complex solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage multiple levels of customer stakeholders
- Ability to work independently while supporting team success
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or technical specialists
- Ability to uncover customer needs and translate them into actionable solution designs
- Comfortable representing Ingram Micro at events, conferences, and vendor‑led initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of functional experience, including at least 3 years in a specialized technical role
- Proficiency with tools, systems, and processes required for solution design and configuration
- Strong customer‑focused mindset with the ability to build lasting relationships
The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
At Ingram Micro certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus or sales incentives and long-term incentives. These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance.
