Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 1–2 years of accounting experience to join our growing finance team. This role will work directly with our forward-thinking Director of Finance to support month-end close, maintain financial accuracy, and implement modern tools and AI-driven solutions to streamline accounting operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant who wants hands-on exposure across all areas of accounting in a dynamic fintech environment and is excited about leveraging automation and technology to improve processes.

Key ResponsibilitiesMonth-End Close & Journal Entries
  • Prepare and record payroll journal entries (TriNet) including salary, wage, PTO accrual, and reimbursement entries

  • Perform month end close tasks as assigned

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple financial institutions (including operating, sweep, reserve, clearing, and credit card accounts

  • Support our donation operation by processing month end user donations and sending payments out to charities.

    This position will work directly with a forward-thinking Director of Finance focused on modernizing accounting operations. The Staff Accountant will play an active role in:

    • Implementing automation tools

    • Leveraging AI to streamline reconciliations and close processes

    • Improving financial reporting workflows

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • 1–2 years of accounting experience in a small/mid size company

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

    • Strong understanding of accrual accounting

    • Experience with monthly close processes

    • High attention to detail and organizational skills

    • Proficiency in Excel

    Preferred:

    • Experience with QuickBooks Online

    • Exposure to fintech, SaaS, or startup environments

    • Experience working with multi-entity or multi-bank reconciliations

    • Interest in automation, systems improvement, or AI tools

    Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 depending on candidate's experience
