Position Overview
We're looking for a Staff Accountant to join a lean, experienced accounting team and take ownership of core transactional processes from day one. You'll run day-to-day accounts payable and monthly bank and card reconciliations, with review and guidance from the Accounting Manager. It's a strong fit for an early-career accountant who learns fast, works independently, and wants accelerated exposure to the full accounting cycle, including our planned migration from QuickBooks Online to NetSuite.
Key Responsibilities
· Own day-to-day accounts payable: invoice review, GL coding, payment runs, and vendor management in Ramp.
· Perform monthly bank and credit card transaction categorization and reconciliation, subject to Accounting Manager review.
· Review employee travel and expense (T&E) submissions for compliance with company expense policy.
· Prepare routine journal entries, including accruals and prepaid amortization.
· Support the month-end close by preparing schedules, tie-outs, and supporting documentation, and by pulling and organizing data for the team’s more complex reconciliations (payment-processor settlements, wallet and revenue waterfalls).
· Organize workpapers and prepared-by-client (PBC) items for our first external audit.
· Maintain organized, accurate accounting records and files.
· Respond to internal questions about expenses, invoices, and payments.
· Support the planned migration from QuickBooks Online to NetSuite through data entry, validation, and testing.
· Help identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounting processes.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
· 0-2 years of accounting experience; strong new graduates are encouraged to apply.
· Solid grasp of core accounting principles.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Fast learner who picks up new systems and processes with minimal hand-holding.
· Self-directed: able to run assigned processes with limited day-to-day supervision.
· Strong time management; consistently meets deadlines.
· Works well in a collaborative team environment.
· Proficiency in Excel.
· Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or other accounting software a plus.
· Experience with AP or expense-management platforms (e.g., Ramp) a plus.
· Interest in pursuing a CPA license a plus.
Why Triumph?
· High-impact, high-visibility seat on a lean, experienced accounting team, with broad exposure across the full accounting cycle as the function and the company scale.
· A passionate team that is proud of our work.
· Competitive salary and benefits (healthcare, vision, dental, 401(k), and more).
