Lime is the largest global shared micromobility business, operating in close to 30 countries across five continents. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered more than one billion rides in cities around the world. Named a 2025 Time 100 Most Influential Company, Lime continues to set the pace for shared micromobility globally, spurring a new generation of clean alternatives to car ownership.

Lime is hiring a Staff Analytics Engineer to join our Data Science & Analytics team! You will report to Lime’s leader of Analytics Engineering & BI. While this role sits within the central data team, you will act as the principal architect for our management reporting warehouse. You will partner with Finance leadership to design systems that operate with the highest levels of governance, ensuring our business performance data can withstand rigorous external audits.

Lime is at an exciting inflection point as we scale our data capabilities to support critical business growth. As we structure our organization, we need someone who can immediately contribute by establishing rigorous data standards and optimizing our most critical business reporting workflows.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience architecting governed reporting systems using dbt and establishing the technical standards for accuracy, repeatability, and transparency. This is a unique opportunity to design the scalable foundation that guarantees the reliability of Lime’s most critical reporting cycles.

This is a remote position with a requirement for candidates to work in the Canada or the United States to maintain effective collaboration across teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Design the long-term technical vision for Lime’s management reporting warehouse to build a robust, scalable semantic layer that supports FP&A, Accounting, and Strategy.

  • Define and enforce the organization's standards for dbt modeling, SQL style, CI/CD workflows, and data testing, ensuring the entire team operates with audit-grade precision.

  • Enforce strict data governance best practices, including comprehensive documentation and automated data quality validation to support audit requirements.

  • Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to ensure analytics solutions are robust enough to support month-end close, quarterly business reviews, and board-level reporting.

  • Evaluate and integrate technologies that improve the automation and orchestration of reporting pipelines, reducing manual intervention and risk.

About you:

  • 9+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data warehousing, with a proven track record of designing data architectures that have scaled with a company's hyper-growth.

  • Deep expertise in dbt Core internals (macros, custom materializations, package management) and a philosophy on how to structure large-scale dbt projects for performance and maintainability.

  • You understand the complexity of managerial reporting. You are an expert at modeling concepts like Contribution Margin, Cohort Retention, and Utilization Rates, and you know how to translate these business concepts into immutable code.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders at the Director/VP level, often navigating conflicting requirements to reach the best long-term technical solution.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience designing systems for strict internal controls or working in a heavily regulated environment.

  • Deep familiarity with orchestration tools and how they interact with the transformation layer.

U.S. Based Positions - What We Offer:

  • Comprehensive Health & Wellness: A choice of medical, dental, and vision plans. We also provide company-paid life and disability insurance and company-funded mental health benefits.

  • Financial & Retirement Planning: 401(k) plan with both pre-tax and Roth options, and access to a Health Savings Account (HSA) with a monthly company contribution.

  • Family & Fertility Support: Paid parental leave for birthing and non-birthing parents, plus fertility and family-forming benefits.

  • Paid Time Off: Unlimited vacation, paid leaves, and 10 company holidays.

  • Unique Lime Perks: Complimentary use of Lime vehicles in participating cities, a monthly phone allowance, dedicated learning and development days, and access to perks including One Medical, Wellhub, and Headspace.

The salary range listed reflects what Lime reasonably expects to offer for this role, with the final base salary determined by factors such as the candidate’s location and relevant skills and experience. Depending on the position, the total compensation package may also include discretionary annual performance bonus opportunities and equity, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements.

Lime considers all qualified applicants for employment, including those with arrest or conviction records, in accordance with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance, the California Fair Chance Act, and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws.
