As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will design and evolve backend systems for a high throughput moderation platform, focusing on async workflows, AI/ML pipelines, and ensuring reliability and observability.
Who We Are
We are building a new Visual Moderation product inside Cloudinary. The team is small, fast, and operates in a startup-style independent environment while owning the full lifecycle from product definitions to operations, with meaningful impact, strong ownership, and the backing of a stable company with a fantastic people culture.
What You Will Do
- Own and evolve the backend for a high throughput moderation platform
- Design async pipelines and workflow systems
- Handle large media volumes and multi tenant workloads
- Run AI and ML inference pipelines at scale with a focus on cost and reliability
- Ship iteratively while keeping long term quality in mind
- Operate with high standards in testing, reliability, and observability
Who You Are
- Exceptional backend engineer with 10+ years of experience, including deep hands on experience delivering web based production systems at scale
- Confident working across the backend stack. We use Python, AWS, Postgres, Kubernetes, and Temporal
- Experienced with cloud environments, distributed systems, queues, async processing, and monitoring
- Some basic experience with DevOps work is helpful
- Great team player
