Why Weave Exists

At Weave, our mission is to evolve how therapeutic knowledge is captured, transformed, and communicated throughout drug development. We do this by equipping human experts with AI instruments to enable drugs to be brought to patients as rapidly, safely, and inexpensively as possible.

The Weave Platform streamlines regulatory workflows from start to finish by intelligently, creatively, and effectively infusing every step with AI. Together with our customers, Weave is designing and building the AI workbench for the entire therapeutic lifecycle.

The Role & Your Mission

We’re looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer to own and evolve the infrastructure, reliability, and operational foundations of the Weave Platform. This role is critical to ensuring that our AI-driven systems are secure, performant, resilient, and compliant as we scale.

Reporting closely to engineering leadership, you will be responsible for designing, operating, and continuously improving our cloud and on-premise environments. You will make high-leverage architectural decisions, establish best practices, and act as a force multiplier for the entire engineering team by enabling fast, safe, and reliable delivery of product features.

You’ll be successful in this role if you can take ownership of ambiguous infrastructure problems, design pragmatic solutions, and operate them in production with a strong bias toward simplicity, observability, and resilience. We value stable, well-understood systems over unnecessary complexity, and we expect you to balance velocity with rigor especially in a regulated environment.

What You'll Own
  • End-to-End Infrastructure Ownership: Design, operate, and evolve Weave’s cloud and on-premise environments (including potential AWS ownership), ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability across single-tenant and hybrid deployments.
  • Deployment, Performance & Reliability: Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines; own deployment velocity, uptime, and system performance; implement strong observability (monitoring, logging, alerting); and lead incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Security, Networking & Compliance: Architect and enforce infrastructure security best practices, including VPC/network design, IAM, and secure cloud-to-on-prem connectivity, while supporting compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Design, test, and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure rapid recovery and system resilience.
  • Operational Enablement & Systems Management: Establish infrastructure standards, documentation, and automation that enable engineering velocity; oversee foundational IT and access management to ensure operational hygiene as the company scales.
What You’ll Bring
  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
  • Experience operating production systems at an early-stage or growth-stage startup, with comfort owning broad surface area.
  • Deep hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), including networking, security, and cost management.
  • Experience managing on-prem or hybrid environments in addition to cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar).
  • Proven experience designing CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and production observability.
  • Pragmatic, analytical thinker who prioritizes reliability, simplicity, and operational excellence.
  • Comfortable working autonomously, making high-impact decisions, and owning outcomes end-to-end.
  • Humble, hungry, and smart; able to collaborate effectively while setting a high bar for quality.

Bonus:

  • Experience supporting systems in regulated environments (healthcare, life sciences, finance, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Python/Django production environments.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML systems in production.
What We Offer

🎯 The opportunity to work at a modern, cutting-edge healthcare technology company devoted to meaningful positive impact on human life. Collaboration, velocity, and customer obsession are our baseline, demonstrations of craftsmanship and ROI are celebrated.

🏆 Competitive salary ($200,000 - $250,000) and equity packages.

🧬 Comprehensive health, dental and vision insurance

🏝️ Take care of you and yours: generous PTO, parental leave, OneMedical, TalkSpace, Teladoc.
