ALSO is looking for a Motor Controls Engineer to play a pivotal role in developing advanced motor controls for our vehicles.
What You Will Do
Develop advanced motor control algorithms and contribute to other control development needs.
Develop and maintain simulation models for control validations and studies.
Test and troubleshoot in the lab and on our vehicles.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and system engineers to contribute to requirements, development and validation.
Identify, report, and track software bugs; analyze logs to troubleshoot issues.
What You Will Bring
MS or PhD degree in Controls, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with a focus on motor controls and drives.
Strong background in controls of PMSM and inverters. Practical experience with motor control algorithms like FOC and DTC, PWM strategies, etc..
Hands on experience testing motor drive systems. Understanding of equipment like dynamometers, power supplies and power meters.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, including model-based design, Stateflow, and developing automation scripts.
Familiar embedded controller and programming languages such as C and Python.
Familiar with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN) and tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANape, etc..
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration workflows.
The salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $260,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
