This is a rare chance to make a meaningful impact at a fast-moving, high-growth company. At Northbeam, you’ll join a team of driven, collaborative, and talented individuals who value personal growth and excellence. We’d love for you to be part of our journey.

We’re a remote-friendly company with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

About the Role

As a Staff Product Designer (UX and Visuals) you will be responsible, from concept to execution, for the overall look and feel of our product suite and ensuring it delivers on our brand. This includes product design for features (storyboards, user flows, page layouts, interaction design, specifications, etc.) as well as visual design (mood boards, visual explorations, data visualizations). Our mission is to create robust yet elegant solutions that compete with the world’s best user-centered platforms.

Northbeam is looking for an individual with excellent UX and visual design skills with deep experience designing B2B products. While we expect you to be a well-rounded product designer, you will have a particular focus/specialization in delighting through visual design and data visualization, and storytelling.

You will have the unique opportunity to interface directly with clients to understand their needs and work alongside a cross-functional team to conceptualize, design, develop, deliver, and iterate on each project. We are seeking a highly empathetic and collaborative leader with strong design instincts, solid analytical capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering quality designs that delight customers.

This position reports directly to our Chief Design Officer.

Your Impact
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their needs and translate them into requirements and designs – in partnership with a cross-functional team of product managers and engineers.
  • Develop a strong UX and Visuals vision for the Northbeam platform, advocating for excellent design and understanding its impact on development.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate how the Northbeam product should work.
  • Own the visual direction for our product, including look and feel, animations, iconography, typography, and data visualization strategy.
  • Create and own our design style guide and design system, ensuring consistency and the highest throughput for our engineers.
  • Iteratively deliver and enhance products that empower Northbeam’s customers to excel in their jobs, helping marketers extract actionable insights from Northbeam’s rich data. Specifically focus on delightful and actionable data visualizations.
  • Collaborate with brand and marketing creative teams to ensure the product lives up to our brand and to help influence brand direction overall.
What You Bring
  • 7+ years of relevant product design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design related field with experience giving and receiving design critique.
  • A professional portfolio demonstrating strategic, conceptual, and visual excellence in handling complex, data-heavy interfaces.
  • Expert-level knowledge of industry design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • A clear point of view. You can see beyond incremental features and lead from vision to execution. You can translate large-scale problems into intuitive and clean user experiences.
  • Extensive UX experience working in a B2B business with enterprise customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver UX and UI prototypes for validation and implementation.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with marketing, advertising, or eCommerce
  • You excel at distilling and articulating complex concepts, data models, and workflows into clear, user-friendly designs and presentations.
  • You’ve delivered UX prototypes repeatedly—validating assumptions, refining based on feedback, and driving seamless implementation.
  • You’ve designed enterprise-grade products while balancing business goals and customer needs.
