Dropbox is seeking a Staff Product Manager to drive the evolution of Find and Relevance within Dash — the intelligent search and organizational assistant for the future of work. In this role, you’ll focus on how Dropbox helps users find exactly what they need, faster and smarter, across apps, content, and conversations.
You’ll lead initiatives that improve search quality, query understanding, personalization, and ranking relevance, working closely with AI/ML and data teams to build systems that anticipate user intent. This role blends data-driven experimentation with deep customer empathy, focusing on measurable impact through precision, recall, and user satisfaction.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional product role that will shape how our users discover and retrieve their work, integrating modern AI techniques—from embeddings to retrieval-augmented generation—into user-facing experiences.
Responsibilities- Define and execute the roadmap for Find & Relevance, ensuring Dash delivers high-quality, contextual search results across sources.
- Partner with engineering and applied AI teams to improve embeddings, ranking models, and retrieval pipelines.
- Design and run experiments to optimize search performance, using both quantitative and qualitative signals.
- Translate AI/ML opportunities into user-facing impact through clear hypotheses, success metrics, and iteration loops.
- Collaborate with Design and Research to understand user intent and friction points in search journeys.
- Partner with platform and infrastructure teams to ensure scalable, performant AI implementations.
- Communicate vision, results, and learnings clearly across stakeholders—from engineers to executives.
- Help evolve Dash’s AI product strategy by advocating for intelligent, personalized, and privacy-aware search.
- 8+ years of product management experience, including ownership of core product areas.
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, Applied Math or Statistics, or relevant experience.
- Demonstrated success improving search, ranking, or recommendation systems.
- Familiarity with modern AI/ML systems (embeddings, vector search, retrieval, ranking models).
- Strong analytical skills; able to design experiments, interpret results, and drive data-informed decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Passion for building AI-powered productivity experiences that reduce friction and amplify focus.
- Experience with semantic search, personalization, or information retrieval systems.
- Familiarity with evaluation frameworks for search and generative AI systems.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration experience (AI, data science, design).
