We are seeking a Product Manager with deep expertise in next-generation sequencing, and a proven track record of successful commercial capital equipment launches. This role will lead product management at the platform-level product development and launch execution, ensuring end-to-end and configurable solutions that integrate seamlessly across both on-market and in-development products. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with both commercial and technical expertise, strong cross-functional leadership skills, capable of driving decisions that balance R&D innovation with commercial success. 

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Act as primary product manager in a novel product development at the system level (being able to cover whole end to end workflow solutions for main use cases for the platform) 

  • Collaborate deeply with R&D, Operations, Commercial, and cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end system delivery and compatibility with both on-market and future products. 

  • Establish product/system level requirements as defined by customer/market and business need, leveraging best practices and data driven decision making including market research, voice of customer, business analytics, customer use cases etc. 

  • Serve as product and customer champion within a cross-functional core team, acting as a strong cross functional partner to effectively support product development in both early-phase and post-launch decisions.  

  • Develop business cases to support key decision making for new product requirements, pricing and establish initial sales forecast predictions. 

  • Partner with key commercial stakeholders to establish commercialization strategies and approaches to ensure product launch success. 

  • Serve as product expert in partnership with Product Marketing to develop product launch value proposition, messaging, product training and launch collateral (including market development studies, presentations, publications and general literatureto support the product) 

  • Partner with key product management and regional marketing stakeholders to define key growth areas for application enablement and market expansion and recommended strategies to unlock growth through product development, sales enablement tools and market development efforts. 

  • Understand key business drivers, based on data and analytics, market trends and direct interaction with Commercial teams and customers.  

  • Build close relationships with key customers, thought leaders, partners, and industry influencers to stay abreast of emerging market trends, be able to communicate those emerging trends actively to the internal team to adjust product placement and features as needed 

  • Establish strong cross functional partnerships with Research, Product Development, Operations, Quality, Commercial and Global Marketing. 

 Preferred Experience: 

  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or equivalent experience. 

  • Must have experience in next generation sequencing technologies such as SBS and others. Real world experience showing customer implementation of sequencing workflows a plus Must have demonstrated product management experience throughout the product development process, for a major product line – capital equipment preferred 

  • Must have demonstrated track record of effective public speaking skills and executive level presentation experience. 

  • Must have demonstrated successful commercial launch of a new product (in an active role; not support role) 

  • Must have experience in developing system requirements, experience with both hardware and software is desirable 

  • Must have demonstrated experience working on early-development products, working heavily with R&D teams to guide product-market fit and translation of product requirements into design inputs. 

  • Must have experience in developing product strategy and product roadmaps in a collaborative environment 

  • Prior experience in market development is highly desired 

  • Must have strong analytical skills – ability to tie detailed analysis to larger strategy and make data driven decisions is critical 

The estimated base salary range for the Sr. Staff Product Manager (HT/NGS) role based in the United States of America is: $155,600 - $233,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long‑term growth in the role; therefore, most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
