tl;dr - Our small but mighty PM team at Scribe is looking for our newest teammate to own one of our most ambitious company goals – driving up Scribe creations with new users. We’re looking for someone with a strong bias for action who would help up-level the Product function with learnings from prior experience. Check out this post from one of our fearless product managers on what it's like to build Product at Scribe 🚀

About this role

In this role, you will work with a talented team of 7 engineers led by the amazing Nick Rosen as your Engineering counterpart, and you will be responsible for:

  • Driving company-level goals and closely tracking relevant business metrics to validate/invalidate our roadmap.

  • Developing a vision for your product area and continuously iterating on it with input from customers, the revenue team, and the market.

  • Partnering closely with Engineering and Design to drive every project from ideation to launch in a way that pushes the quality bar for the product.

  • Being the face of Scribe. Whether it’s presenting the product vision to the C-suite or responding to feature requests in our Scribe Community Slack, our PM team engages with users daily to keep a pulse on the product.

  • Measuring the impact of every release and using data-powered insights to inform and improve our future bets. Please leave the ‘feature factory’ mindset at the door.

Note: This role requires you to be in the SF office 3 days/week.

You could be a great fit if this sounds like you:

  • Extremely curious and love chasing the “why, why, why” to deeply understand user issues and obsess over creative ways to solve them.

  • 8+ years of building SaaS products for Enterprise customers (startup experience preferred), with experience building for different clients (Chrome extensions, Windows/Mac apps)

  • Appreciate the craft of building products. You can quickly build credibility with your design and engineering counterparts through a deep understanding of and respect for their disciplines.

  • Care about the details. You pride yourself on delivering the best end-to-end user experience and would never say “that’s not my job” or “that’s not my problem”.

  • Deeply understand the customer. You become the go-to person for your product area and can talk someone’s ear off for hours when approached about business and user questions.

  • Outcomes over output. You thrive on owning a company-level OKR and driving towards impact rather than just following processes and frameworks.

  • Highly collaborative. You recognize that your team only amplifies your impact, so you’re excited to inspire and uplevel your team.

  • Think big and deliver incrementally. You love dreaming of “big ideas,” but balance that with incrementally shipping value to our users at a high velocity.

  • Have a strong POV. You can discern good products from great, and stakeholders rely on you to represent the customer and market.

  • Thrive in autonomy. You enjoy shaping the product, not just shipping it. You identify the problems, define the roadmap, and defend your decisions with calculated trade-offs.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
