Wormhole Labs is a technology company that specializes in building multi-blockchain software. Our experience spans a broad spectrum of blockchain technology, and we operate at the intersection of consumer and platform.
As a Staff React Native Engineer at Wormhole Labs, you will play a critical role in Wormhole and Portal’s strategy to build first-class bridging and related DeFi experiences for mobile devices. This is our first mobile role, so you will have the opportunity to define our mobile engineering practices from the ground up.

What you will do
  • Contribute to Portal (https://portalbridge.com/) on all platforms, with a focus on mobile.

  • Contribute to the development of Wormhole TypeScript SDK, Wormhole Connect, and other open source frontend components and libraries.

  • Set the standard for how mobile applications get built at the company.

  • Follow best practices for secure frontend & mobile development, and build future best practices alongside Wormhole security researchers.

  • Stay up to date with the latest in web3, React Native, and mobile development best practices, tooling, and industry trends.

The ideal candidate will
  • Have 5+ years of experience building mobile applications used by millions of users.

  • Be fluent with Claude Code and LLM best practices.

  • Be high agency and effect the outcomes they wish to see.

  • Demonstrate customer obsession and feel pride in building great experiences.

  • Care deeply about the business outcomes of your work and challenge priorities when the business impact is unclear.

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will be taken into consideration.

We provide
  • Competitive salary and restricted token units, dependent on position type and location.

  • Discretionary bonus dependent on company and individual performance.

  • Unlimited time off, healthcare premium reimbursement, and 401K.

  • Top-of-the-line MacBook Pro and test mobile devices.

  • Flexibility of working from wherever you have work authorization, as long as you are available ~10-6PM US Eastern Time. We minimize unnecessary meetings, but building decentralized systems requires synchronous communication.

Note: This role is only open to candidates with demonstrated experience building widely used mobile applications. We will only respond to applications that meet our requirements. If you don't get a response, please assume a polite decline.
