About the Role

Atropos Health is seeking a dynamic Staff Sales Engineer to join our growing Commercial team. The Staff Sales Engineer role is an externally-facing, revenue-focused role, responsible for working with the Sales team to demonstrate the value of Atropos Health’s solutions to Life Sciences prospects and clients. The Staff Sales Engineer researches customers, understands their needs, and aligns Atropos Health’s solutions to those needs. They are responsible for the creation of presentation content, including demos, and will be integral to present the solution to customers during meetings.

The ideal candidate for this role has prior experience selling and delivering real world evidence and precision medicine solutions to life sciences and pharmaceutical companies and has a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, data, technology, and analytical methods. This candidate must have extremely strong communication skills and must be able to clearly and concisely articulate complex ideas and concepts common to the healthcare industry. This person is expected to be a subject matter expert and must conduct themselves with poise, often pivoting in real time to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and engage potential Life Science clients, understanding their unique needs and pain points.

  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations that highlight the value proposition of Atropos Health’s products and services.

  • Serve as a technical resource during the selling process, addressing client queries and providing in-depth knowledge of solution capabilities. This includes learning Atropos’ Temporal Query Language and applying it to the curation of cohorts and the generation or preliminary analyses.

  • Understand pricing, customer value, and pricing strategy to articulate ROI to customers during the sales process.

  • Work closely with product management and engineering teams to convey customer feedback and influence product development, ensuring alignment with market demands.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders.

  • Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and webinars to enhance awareness of Atropos Health’s offerings and expand professional networks.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for this role.

  • Strong initiative and the ability to work independently.

  • Prior experience working with real-world healthcare data (EMR, claims, etc.) and deep knowledge of its advantages, shortcomings, and use cases is required.

  • Demonstrated experience working with a sales team.

  • Strong technical skills and hands-on experience with SQL is required. Additional coding languages (e.g., R, Python) is a plus.

  • Prior experience working and proven aptitude in a startup environment.

  • An advanced degree in a clinical setting (e.g., clinical informatics, Ph.D, PharmD, MPH, M.D.) is preferred.

  • 7+years work experience in healthcare, consulting, or pharmaceuticals/biotech in a customer facing role is required.

Reporting

The Sales Engineer reports directly to the Vice President of Sales Engineering, Vinny Marino.
