Staff Security Engineer, Strategy & OperationsPosition Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic, analytical, and operationally focused Staff Security Engineer, Strategy & Operations to support and drive operational excellence across the Health100 and PCW Security & Infrastructure organizations. This role combines security domain expertise, business operations, strategic planning, executive communications, and data-driven decision making to enable organizational effectiveness and execution.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, owning executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, operational governance, and strategic initiatives that provide visibility into organizational health, security program maturity, infrastructure performance, and business outcomes. This individual will partner across security, engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to drive alignment, accountability, and operational excellence at scale.
Who Are You
You are an experienced security professional with a passion for strategy, operations, and organizational effectiveness. You possess a strong understanding of cybersecurity and infrastructure environments, coupled with exceptional analytical and communication skills. You thrive in complex organizations, can synthesize large volumes of information into actionable insights, and excel at influencing stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
You have a proven track record of developing executive-level reporting, driving cross-functional initiatives, operationalizing metrics, and creating scalable processes that improve organizational performance. You are equally comfortable presenting to executive leadership, facilitating operational reviews, analyzing performance trends, and leading strategic initiatives.
Role ResponsibilitiesA. Development & Enforcement
  • Establish and maintain operational governance frameworks supporting Health100 and PCW Security & Infrastructure strategic priorities.
  • Define, document, and enforce operational standards, reporting processes, and organizational best practices.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operational playbooks, and governance documentation.
  • Drive consistency and accountability across security and infrastructure reporting, communications, and operational processes.
  • Develop KPI governance standards and ensure alignment of metrics across multiple organizations and stakeholder groups.
  • Support security program maturity through policy alignment, operational rigor, and continuous process improvement.
B. Collaboration & Expertise
  • Partner closely with Security Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Program Management, Business Operations, and leadership teams to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Directors, Senior Directors, and executive stakeholders on operational performance and organizational priorities.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment across security, infrastructure, compliance, risk, engineering, and business teams.
  • Lead and coordinate executive business reviews, operational reviews, and leadership discussions.
  • Identify organizational challenges and drive scalable solutions through collaboration and influence.
C. Analysis & ConfigurationKPI, Metrics & Executive Dashboard Ownership
  • Own the strategy, development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of executive dashboards supporting the Health100 and PCW Security & Infrastructure organizations.
  • Define, track, analyze, and report KPIs that measure organizational health, operational effectiveness, security program performance, infrastructure reliability, delivery execution, risk management, and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and maintain executive scorecards, Monthly Operational Reviews (MORs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and leadership reporting frameworks.
  • Establish leading and lagging indicators that enable proactive management of organizational risks and priorities.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of metrics across reporting systems and business reviews.
  • Partner with data, engineering, and security teams to automate reporting processes and improve data accessibility.
  • Deliver actionable insights through trend analysis, forecasting, performance assessments, and executive recommendations.
  • Leverage Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Excel, SharePoint, and related technologies to provide data-driven visibility and decision support for leadership.
Strategic Analytics
  • Analyze business and operational data to identify opportunities, risks, dependencies, and performance trends.
  • Translate complex technical and business information into executive-ready narratives and recommendations.
  • Support organizational planning through quantitative analysis, benchmarking, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives informed by operational data and business insights.
D. Operational Support
  • Lead and coordinate key operational rhythms, including business reviews, leadership staff meetings, planning cycles, and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage action-item tracking, dependency management, risk mitigation, and executive follow-through for critical priorities.
  • Maintain organizational SharePoint sites, collaboration platforms, and knowledge management systems.
  • Support security and infrastructure leadership in execution of strategic initiatives, organizational transformations, and operational improvements.
  • Develop repeatable processes that improve visibility, efficiency, and organizational scalability.
  • Coordinate communications and information flow across multiple stakeholder groups and leadership teams.
E. Mentorship & Training
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, program managers, analysts, and operations professionals.
  • Promote adoption of reporting standards, operational best practices, and strategic planning methodologies.
  • Develop onboarding resources, operational documentation, and training materials that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data-driven decision making.
F. Innovation and Research
  • Evaluate emerging security technologies, operational tools, automation opportunities, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize reporting, improve dashboard capabilities, and enhance executive insights.
  • Research industry best practices across cybersecurity operations, infrastructure management, organizational effectiveness, and business operations.
  • Drive innovation initiatives that improve operational maturity, reporting efficiency, and strategic visibility.
G. Strategic Planning
  • Partner with leadership on annual planning, quarterly business planning, organizational goal setting, and execution management.
  • Support development and tracking of organizational OKRs, strategic priorities, investment decisions, and operational roadmaps.
  • Create executive presentations, business cases, strategic narratives, and leadership communications.
  • Monitor progress against strategic commitments and provide leadership visibility into performance, risks, and outcomes.
  • Facilitate alignment across stakeholder groups to drive successful execution of business and security objectives.
  • Support executive decision-making through data-driven recommendations and operational insights.
QualificationsA. Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Security Operations, Technical Program Management, Business Operations, Strategy & Operations, Chief of Staff functions, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting security, infrastructure, engineering, or enterprise technology organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise developing executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, scorecards, and business performance reporting.
  • Experience driving cross-functional programs and organizational initiatives in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business operations skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and present to executive leadership.
  • Experience facilitating operational reviews, strategic planning activities, and business governance processes.
  • Ability to synthesize technical and business information into actionable recommendations.
B. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise Security, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Risk Management, Compliance, or Engineering organizations.
  • Proven experience owning KPI strategy, executive scorecards, and operational reporting across large-scale organizations.
  • Experience tracking and reporting organizational metrics across Health100 and PCW Security & Infrastructure environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Knowledge of security metrics, operational excellence frameworks, risk management practices, and infrastructure performance measurement.
  • Experience building automated reporting solutions and executive data visualization platforms.
  • Experience partnering directly with Director, Senior Director, VP, or executive leadership teams.
  • Familiarity with organizational change management, strategic planning, and operational transformation initiatives.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Business Administration (MBA), Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, Security+, Azure Security Engineer, Certified Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$130,295.00 - $284,280.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
