About Endurance

Endurance is building the world's first modular subsea geothermal power plants, converting vast thermal resources under the ocean into gigawatts of baseload power. Backed by Founders Fund, Felicis, First Round Capital, and Point72 Ventures, our founding team includes veterans from SpaceX, Helion, and Robinhood. We have completed multiple deep-ocean deployments and are launching a long-term demonstration project this fall. By leveraging modular design, manufacturing scale, efficient drilling, and latent cooling on the seafloor, we are pioneering a new category of energy that outperforms traditional sources on both environmental impact and cost.

What you'll be doing

As an Engineering Productivity Software Engineer at Endurance, you will build software to optimize and accelerate every aspect of the company. As we scale from our first hundred-kilowatt subsea demonstration to gigawatt deployments, you will architect, configure, and build the internal systems that run Endurance's manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering, from MES and ERP through procurement, PLM, and the engineering data layer that ties hardware development together.

We believe an internal software team building the right stack is one of the highest leverage moves we can make as we scale. The commercial systems that traditional industrial companies rely on are slow, brittle, and built for a different operating tempo than ours. Your job is to figure out what to buy, what to configure, and what to build, and to write the code that brings the answer to life.

You will be in the room with the hardware engineers shipping subsea power plants, the manufacturing leads building the production system, the supply chain leads structuring procurement, and the operators running ocean deployments, designing and delivering the software that makes their work faster, safer, and more scalable. In the near term, that means standing up the data and telemetry pipeline for our first subsea demonstration, scoping and selecting the foundational engineering and manufacturing systems, designing the supply chain and procurement tooling that will support our first 10MW commercial deployments, and prototyping the first generation of Endurance's internal tools.

You will also build the production software that makes a power plant on the seafloor operable. Endurance is putting modular geothermal power plants on the ocean floor, where no current operating software, no SCADA vendor, and no telemetry stack exists, because no one else operates there. You will design the data pipeline that streams from a turbine kilometers below the surface, the dashboards that let a Seattle control room run a plant off Tonga, and the operational software that turns a fleet of subsea power plants into a utility.

The ideal candidate is a senior or staff engineer who has strong judgment on when to buy a vendor product and when to write your own, can hold technical credibility with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers, and is energized by building the software that operates a category of energy infrastructure that has never existed before.

You will be the first full-stack software engineer at the company. You will work directly with the founding team and the operational leaders across Endurance, and as the software function grows, you will have significant influence on what gets built, who joins the team, and how the organization is shaped.

Key Responsibilities

Select, integrate, configure, and where required build the foundational software systems that run Endurance's manufacturing and supply chain

Make and execute the build, buy, and configure calls across PLM, ERP, MES, procurement, telemetry, and operational tooling

Architect and build the telemetry, data, and operational software that runs Endurance's power plants on the seafloor and supports subsea deployment operations

Interface closely with internal customers to understand their workflows, inefficiencies, and needs - so you can create great software to accelerate them

Write production code, set engineering standards, and build the technical patterns that the broader software team will inherit

Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and policy leaders to ensure the software roadmap maps to operational reality

Establish cybersecurity, data governance, and development practices appropriate for a venture-backed company operating across federal, defense, and international markets

As the first full-stack software engineer at Endurance, own the technical foundation that the broader software organization is built on

Help shape the software organization as it grows, including interviewing and onboarding future engineers

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience

Track record architecting, shipping, and operating internal software systems (manufacturing, supply chain, engineering data, telemetry, or operations tooling)

Strong build, buy, and configure judgment with hands-on experience selecting, deploying, or replacing industrial software systems such as PLM, ERP, MES, or procurement platforms

Demonstrated ability to ship production software end to end, from architecture through deployment and operation

Technical fluency strong enough to hold credibility with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers

Comfort being the first software engineer at a venture-backed company at sub-fifty headcount, including all the ambiguity that comes with it

Ability to work onsite in Seattle and travel to deployment sites as required

Preferred Skills

Experience inside hardware companies known for strong in-house industrial software, such as SpaceX, Anduril, Tesla, Hadrian, Helion, Shield AI, Saronic, Apex, Relativity, or Stoke
